tonight’s the night

President Obama at the White House Correspondents Awards Dinner, May, 2009. (Photo by Lawrence Jackson)

Live coverage tonight begins at 9:40 ET on the White House website

C-Span’s coverage starts at 6:45 ET with the arrival of the guests – here (thank you UT Austin Liberal)

I see Jake Tapper is getting an award for ‘excellence in presidential coverage’ – seriously.

This photo on the White House Correspondents’ Association website always cracks me up:

Good morning Chipsticks! Once again, thanks for the heads-up. This allows me to post the LA times so I don’t miss the live coverage. And that photo you posted – I had to look twice to realize that was Hilary whooping it up! LOL!!!!

President Obama should give a 25 minute serious address – update on the tornado’s, Iraq/Afghanistan, Libya/Egypt/Tunisia, the economy/gas prices, the Obama vs Ryan budget, and close with “Jake Tapper winning the excellence award and Donald Trump being here at all are jokes I couldn’t possibly top, so I instead tried to inform the American people about all the news that is being ignored while you let Trump and Fox news lead you around by your noses to chase manufactured non-stories and hyped up conspiracy theories that belong on early morning AM radio to disrtract from the Ryan Budget that would be the greatest joke of them all if it wasn’t so deadly serious for the tens of millions of folks who would lose their medicare/medicaid while the billionaires got more tax cuts”.

That was so righteous and so spot on! All I can say is Amen!

I wish he just wouldn’t go……but I know he can handle it, and with great aplomb and an endearing sense of humor.

StR, this is my second attempt to post using a different browser. Anyhow, I wanted to say that it’s a shame they couldn’t have you there to really give it to ’em 😀

I have no doubt that before he begins tonight, he will at least mention the devastation in the South, and I hope mentions our troops in harms way and the day to day struggles of the American people.

This is makes me ill, the same people that uses their pen and tv space to bash him. These same unscrupulous sons of bitches that have been a huge part of the non stop attempt to sully this man and his presidency is gonna sit back tonight and be “entertained” by him. I know this is yet another presidential obligation he has to fulfill but I don’t like it. I would rather him spend that precious time relaxing with his family than with these disgraceful scum of the earth “journalists”.

For all practical purposes I view the MSM as operatives of the RRR (Rich, radical and racist…formerly known as the GOP). For the most part they are failed journalists. Jake Tapper….really!….doesn’t speak well for industry standards.

Since Colbert roasted Bush, I must admit I like the poliprom. Beats the royal wedding. Obama is hilarious!

Why is the President’s skin so flawless and smile so bright? They hate him because he is beautiful.

kay360…..you’ve articulated what Eugene Robinson said in his editorial…..I believe that is true! He is effortlessly beautiful, elegant, smart, graceful, loving, with a family that is the same. We are so fortunate!

Thanks for heads up, Chips. I love that picture of Hilary. Jake Tapper? They have just proven we have no leaders in Journalism. Funny thing is I posted something on his site that was rather negative of his skills. It was deleted and the next day there were three very positive posts about him using my nametag.

barb, you said it. There are so many cheap and easy diggs I could make at Tapper, that I almost feel bad even trying. It’s a sad, sad day in journalistic history when a _____________ like that can get an award in excellence.
ps-since my killer instincts are taking a moral hibernation in regards to Tapper, so please fill in the blank with whatever derogatory term you please 😉

    Hi Chipsticks.

Do you happen to know the provenance of that picture of Mitt Romney?

That picture is incredibly damaging to him right now, as the sign holder has ‘Osama’ as (then) Senator Obama’s surname.
