Shuttle launch called off. Delayed until at least Sunday. Technical problem and bad weather. A shame for everyone who had travelled there to watch the launch.

I’m disappointed too dotster. But better safe than sorry. The last thing we need right now is another disaster. And unlike the tornadoes, earthquakes, etc, we have some degree of control in preventing one in this situation.

Chipsticks, POTUS heard that you were unavailable to view the launch today, so he ordered NASA to delay it till Sunday. So, take care of your business today and we’ll see you later…

    Good day everyone,

As you all know, Lawrence O’Donnell excoriated not just chump but NBC, particularly NBC Entertainment, during his program on Wed., 27 April – video here:

Well, I thought we should all follow-up with Mr O’Donnell and ask him to report this evening on why we’ve yet to hear any response from NBC and what he is going to do about it.

If someone has an email address for him, please post it, so we can all inquire.

    Thank you

I don’t know if you noticed Fred, but Mr. O’Donnell was not on his show last night. Chris Hayes was filling in for him. He may not be on the show this evening either. He may not be returning for all you know. Perhaps we should wait until next week to see what happens.

hopefruit – Bobfr here – thank you for that info as I’m not a regular viewer of any of these programs. I did just call NBC and left a vmail for Mr O’Donnell. As you note, we’ll see … It is obvious that NBC is getting a lot of pressure and have – at least as of earlier this morning – refused any comment on the chump.

Afternoon, One and all! I for one am quite happy that caution is being shown around the launch. As Hopefruit said above , ‘Better safe than sorry.’

Chipsticks, you can ‘fess’ up now! Do you have an invitation to ‘the wedding’ that you didn’t want to share with us, despite the protests you made about not being interested? Was your avowed non-interest meant to be one of those ‘not meant to be a factual’ statement used so often by the republicans? 😉

Seriously, have a productive and interesting day, and we’ll see you when you get back! 😆

Chips it’s good to stand away and get something done that needs attention or even to rest awhile. I know that I don’t get things done because of this lovely site and all the love and attention you give out. We really do appreciate you. I think I need to take a nap…..so signing off. See you later.

Beautiful post from Crooks & Liars

I Almost Want to Rip Up My Own Birth Certificate.

I am a white Jewish American. My family escaped–often in a sprint, sometimes prostrate on the bottom of a rowboat—Cossacks and communists and Nazis so that I might be here today. Many of them didn’t make it.

I live in the middle of Los Angeles. Gay people are everywhere and considered as normal as anyone else. Black people too. Persians, Buddhists, Sikhs, astrologers and witches are ho-hum. My mechanic is Pakistani. I probably run into more Latinos everyday than I do white people. When I grew up, our mayor was black. Today our mayor is Hispanic. No one seems to notice.

It is a privilege to live like this. It is lovely.

And obviously I reside in La La Land because yesterday, Birth Certificate Day, punched me in the mouth. I was stricken, paralyzed with rage.

To see laid bare the brazen racial hatred coursing through the blood of so many millions of people who also call themselves American, well it actually made me cry. I’d thought, in 2011, that we were better than that. We aren’t. We are still desperately sick. And it made me ashamed before all of those that we continue to torment.

I should have known better. About ten years ago, I went to a wedding in Memphis, Tennessee, which included a preliminary lunch at the home of some fantastically polite and generous white people in the suburbs. They fed us lavishly. Laughed at our jokes. Expressed real interest in our pursuits and lives back home. They loaned us their car. They offered us a place to sleep “anytime.” They were basically the nicest people I had ever met in my life.

Then the 40-year-old woman who lived in this beautiful house asked what we had planned that night. “We’re going to check out Beale Street,” I answered like a typical tourist. Her face flinched a fraction in disappointment and concern. “Oh,” she said. “Don’t you think it’s a bit dark down there?” “Dark?” I smirked like an idiot. “The whole place is lit up like high noon in neon lights.”

And then we elected a black president.

I know racism persists. Arizona, “Ground Zero Mosque” and “Mau Mau” are ominous signs of this despicable cancer. But I was not prepared for this buffoon, this nauseating jester of unflagging privilege, to amplify this revolting malice. To feed his ugly sucking egomania, Donald Trump opted to speak for those people in Tennessee and so many others. Black people, he lied again and again, are not good enough to be president. Black people are not good enough for Harvard. Black people are lesser. Illegitimate. Frauds and Conmen. It is high time that these people relearned their place. In short, he raved, “The Blacks” are Not Us.

read the rest here, it’s good.

NBC owe the President and his family an Apology. The President have feeling just as anyone else. Other countries are talking about the United States, Wed. Will go down in History the Most Sad Day for this country and disgraceful, the UK called what going on with the Birthers and Republicans “Silliness which mean: Senseless, Idoitic,Stupid or Clowns, almost the same thing the President Said. When the President leave office, no one is going to deal with this Country, because they are all about Hate and thinking they have the power to go into someone Country and take from them, as Trump said they should take Iraq Oil and Demonizing China when he and his wife are doing business with China and have business over in China. This Guy is a Fake, This week in Vagas he was dropping all kinds of F Bombs and the Republicans and Tea Baggers was Cheering him, we don’t know why they was Cheering him on When this is they Mess the President is cleaning up, Trump is so hungry for attention, he’s really showing his Ignorant. almost every words that came out his mouth was Mf this or f. this, where is the Outrage? HE’s Jealous of the President.
