Aww,she’s so beautiful & I love her outfit. I am so proud to have this woman as our first lady. She does an awesome job. We couldn’t have picked a better first family.

This is the reason why the Obamas are suffering all these slings and arrows from the unintelligent and mean spirited. It’s for the kids – their two little ones and all the others around the world. This is why they won’t quit.

Awww.. Bless her heart. That’s so sweet that The White House has made this a consecutive and annual event. I bet those kids are on cloud nine. By the way she looks gorgeous. The smile in her eyes shows the goodness in her heart and makes her radiate beauty. Her outfits are always spot on and breathtaking. I’m in college and I don’t even have half her fashion sense and style. I love the way she mixes colors and styles that I would never think can be coordinated and voila it comes out looking fresh off of fashion runways and magazines. But the best thing is that even though she looks like a million bucks, she mixes high end and low end stuff and that gives me pointers for the future. πŸ˜€

That last picture looks as if she is checking out a loose tooth or something. It’s a very concerned motherly look she’s giving that little girl.

She’s real, I like it because she makes every kid feel welcome. They can talk to her, give her a hug, she’s just like a Mother. Mother in chief, she says. Mrs Robinson must be a wonderful Mother. When will the Obamas be going to England and Ireland. It wouldn’t bother me if they didn’t go to England, since they weren’t invited to that wedding.

They’ll be going to England and Ireland in May. I heard that they weren’t invited to the wedding because it is not a state event, so Heads of State like President Sarkozy of France and President Obama weren’t invited. Also if the President and First Lady did go to the wedding, they would take all the attention away from the couple (it wouldn’t matter to me) πŸ˜‰ In my opinion I much prefer the State Dinner that is being put on in their honor in May because then they’ll be in the spotlight and it will reinforce to everyone around the world how wonderful they are πŸ˜€

you know, on almost every site about Miche that I go on, I see “Michelle Obama 2016″ in the comments section. Hey, if she believes a woman can and will become president of this country, I want her to be it.
ps-I love how she saids: ” a little thing like Barack Obama being president…..” I love how she keeps him and us real. Once when she was introducing him she was like: “Okay, now I’m gonna turn it over to this guy.”I think it was for the bullying gathering/conference….whatever you want to call it. Everybody cracked up when she said it though. I think that’s how she humanizes him to people who would otherwise be intimidated by him- why are they intimidated? I don’t know. If I ever met him, I’d hang on to him and never let go. SS would have to surgically remove me πŸ˜‰ Same for Miche. I would love one of her mommy hugs πŸ™‚

oh how I do agree with you on all the points you posted! I so love this couple and I ache deeply and weep frequently at the kind of vitriolic abuse they receive daily – but then I get to see pix such as these and I remember deeply WHY WE ELECTED PRESIDENT OBAMA AND MICHELLE THE BEST FIRST LADY EVER!!!!!!!!!! and indeed I would cling to them both were I ever so blessed and fortunate to be in the presence… Very special people for sure…

Lisa, so true. I can see them trying to move to the next in line with you grabbbing onto their legs saying,”Take me with you, pleassssssseeeeeee”. When President Obama came to the WH we got the whole package, double our moneys worth. She should get a salary also. Can’t wait for Ireland and the State visit to Britian. I wonder if she and the Queen will wrap their arms around each other as they did before. That has never happened in the history of Queen Elizabeth II’s reigh.

Whatever she does after FLOTUS, I hope that she continues working with and for children. So many children need a warm, accepting hug and she has so many to give. Children of all ages seem to instinctively trust her!

Awwww how precious. What a wonderful experience for these young uns. Just love when FLOTUS is in this ‘Hugger in Chief’ mode, that last picture just sums her up.

  18. April 28, 2011 at 6:22 pm

I love her and God knows I love everything her and her husband does for all of us but I so wish she would not cross her legs like that…

No I am not old fashioned. Women should always cross their legs at the ankles for strategic reason and all charm schools teach this.

    Okay now fore away…

        April 28, 2011 at 7:04 pm

I fine no fault in her crossing her legs like that. They are long and they look nice. I was watching the video, but someting went wrong. I was so enjoying the First Lady taking questions from the kids. She is just great, legs cross and all.

      • 33 lisa
        April 28, 2011 at 7:21 pm

It’s not often that she crosses her legs like that, most of the time she does the ankles, but today she couldn’t, because she’s wearing a short skirt and is sitting on a raised dias. Trust me, sitting with crossed ankles would not have been appropriate under those conditions, I’ve heard horror stories about that.

    • April 28, 2011 at 7:24 pm

      **** scratches head ****

I’ve crossed my legs precisely like Michelle all my life! Who cares what ‘charm schools’ think, yuck!!!

      • April 28, 2011 at 8:59 pm

My point.. is no other first lady or dignitary not even Dr Biden crosses their legs at the knees…

        • 36 lisa
          April 28, 2011 at 9:07 pm

who cares? really? I’m sorry, but this topic is really not that important. If she wants to cross her legs at the knees, let her, who is she hurting? You stated your opinion, we’ve each stated ours and Michelle will do whatever she feels like doing. Let’s all let it go and cry peace.
          p.s- how’s the writer’s block, I hope it’s passed, good luck πŸ˜‰

        • April 28, 2011 at 9:14 pm

I’m sorry TeamObama, but for most women with brains that’s just a pile of offensive bullshit. Who exactly defines what a ‘lady’ is? Usually a male, often some toffee-nosed cretin (and we’ll see plenty of them at the royal wedding tomorrow – sigh) who attended ‘finishing school’, thanks to Daddy’s stack of inherited loot, because they hadn’t the brains to do anything worthwhile. And by ‘lady’ they mean how a man wants to see a woman ‘behave’. What woman with any intelligence would give a **** about these pricks’ ‘etiquette’ (barf) rules? NONE!

This is just hoity-toity class-ridden crap.

And what does “not even Dr Biden” mean???

Sorry, I’m angry, I better go away and take a deep breath – I seriously hate this kind of crap.

Chipsticks, I feel just like you. This is crap. Call it for what it is. I am so tired of these ugly people telling us that First Lady Michelle Obama is not “classy enough.” What does that mean. Oh, no we are not going to continue to take these ugly horns and just lie down and grin. No MORE. I have a neighbor who is an Ultra Conservative(his words to me), and just a few weeks agon, he looked me into the eye(because I would not look any other place) and he said>” First Lady Laura Bush was and is the MOST CLASSY First Lady we ever had and will have.” My mother taught me to be gentle with older people, so I was, but she never said,”But do not speak you heart when it is right or wrong.” Stand up straight and give them a part of your heart and then give them a part of your mind. She said, do not waste too much of the mind because Mother can’t pay for anymore for degrees. and we do not know when Mother will be taking up residence in my other home. But your heart, I know that I put enough in there that will last a lifetime.”

TEAMOBAMA2012….One of the reason why I really like this First Lady is because she’s not trying to be like any other First Lady. First and foremost she is being Michelle Obama, not Dr. Biden or any other digitary. Mrs. Obama is a lady whether she cross her legs like she did today, or at the ankles. When people at Huffington Post used to talk about the way she dress. I always used to tell them at HP, isn’t it Michelle’s choice to wear what she likes, and if she wanted or needed any of their opinions she would contact them. It’s her choice to cross her legs as she choose, isn’t it. And I dare anyone to say she isn’t a lady because she choose to cross her legs that way. This is a can of worms which should have never been open up.

Want to get me piss, start talking about my First Lady over foolish crap. Michelle Obama is just as good as any other First Lady, second lady or other dignitary. It’s like how some people used to go after her for wearing sleeveless dresses. Like Chipsticks I better go somewhere and cool off, because I fine this offensive, and I don’t like it.

I watched this event today and I really can’t say enough about the sheer kindness of our First Lady. Those children asked terrific questions and they all really responded to her. And she honored them in kind. At the end of the event, so many wanted to hug her and you could just feel the warmth being conveyed in that room. We really have an incredible greatness in our First Lady.

Thank you Chipsticks for providing the longer video. FLOTUS is so warm and real. I was wishing that I was there with her and the children. I sat and watched it all the way to the end. Awwwwww love the fact that one of the reasons Mrs Obama loves to spend time in the Rose Garden is because she wants to be near to the President πŸ™‚ It says a lot about their marriage! The President and Malia reads together that awesome!! This couple is what good parenting is about. I wish I could of been there because I have a whole lot of questions I would like to ask the First Lady…lucky kids!! Thanks for the video Chips!!

Isn’t it great though, P? When I heard that, I was like, ‘damn, seriously, can they get any more perfect? Really?’ I think it’s awesome that the girls are learning about interpersonal relationships whether it’s between two friends or spouses by watching and modeling how their parents interact with each other and with them. Today I was looking at pictures of the family and I realized that either PBO and Miche were holding hands(when the girls weren’t with them), or the ‘rents are holding hands with the girls: PBO and Malia, Miche and Sasha or vice versa. I remember growing up and hearing:’a father should teach his daughter how a man should treat her.’ So dads would take their daughters out on mini-dates starting just about the time puberty hit, some would have weekly date nights, like on Friday evenings, dads would take their daughters out to dinner and a movie, they’d go get icecream afterwards and talk about what they saw. It teaches young women to love and respect themselves, but in turn teaches them that they are worthy of the love and respect of the men they date. I think that lesson is lost on young in this day and age. I’ve been in college since I was 17 (god, did I have to remind myself of that? I feel ancient, and no, don’t ask me how old I am, I stopped counting after I got out of the ‘teens) and trust me, I’ve seen alot of young girls debase themselves and who remained complicit as the men they ‘dated’ debased them. So I’m glad PBO has decided that he wants the absolute best for his girls. I’m glad he’s one of those dads who-though overwhelmingly busy- still finds and desires the time to sit down and do something special, just for him and his girls. I absolutely believe that they will be better women for it, just like their Mama.
ps-did I mention how very much I love this family? No? Can you guess? πŸ˜‰

Oh you couldn’t have written it any better lisa! I also love that Michelle didn’t read the Harry Porter books, it seems like she wanted that to be between daddy and daughter. It’s important that each parent develop something that he/she does with the kid/s that the other doesn’t and this is good for the President especially since he is so busy. These girls are going to have great memories of their childhood something that many are not blessed with. I wish more fathers would recognise the importance of their presence with their daughters and sons. What you said is absolutely true! Please no need to explain, I think we all love this family very much πŸ™‚ Long Live the Obama Family!!! What an example of the meaning “FAMILY”!!

Could she be anymore genuine? Has any other first lady done this sort of thing before or are we just privy to it now because of the internet/social media age? Great questions from the crowd of kids and it was so fun hearing her responses. Thanks Chips for bringing this to us. The FLOTUS is entirely delightful!
