Another day another Rethug taking heat for voting to kill Medicare. This time it’s Sean “I can’t live on $174K a year” Duffy (R-WI)

      Let’s try that again.

These people are asking intelligent questions based on facts.

I’m loving these town halls, no one shouting just Americans demanding that their representatives account for their policies.

bjw2…. they are not yelling and acting foolish like those tea party folks did at the healthcare town hall meetings. Those people wouldn’t even allow people to say anything if they didn’t agree with it. It was embarassing and rude. I hope these people kept it up, because what Rep. Ryans and his buddies are planning to do to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security is terrible.

This was brilliant! The people were calm, armed with facts, and non-partisan. They were just asking informed questions. And they were answered with a bunch of false talking points from a Republican who has clearly drunk the kool-aid, and thought he could waltz in with his flipcharts and false “facts” and hoodwink a bunch of seniors. Bravo to those who stood up for themselves and their fellow Americans!

    Good evening (morning) Chipsticks,

“Dangerous Games” is a must read and something that needs to be seen by as many as possible:

“However, nothing sensible or mature is on the horizon. Republicans have vowed to extract more heedless spending cuts in exchange for their votes to raise the debt limit. To that end, they seem likely to demand changes to the budget process, like a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, or spending caps.”

“Another bad idea is the spending cap proposed by two senators, Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee, and Claire McCaskill, Democrat of Missouri. It would cap spending at around 21 percent of G.D.P., compared with about 24 percent now — which would require deep cuts like those in the House Republican budget plan. With its emphasis on spending cuts, the cap also seems intended to reduce the deficit without tax increases.

In the successful deficit reduction efforts of 1990 and 1993, budget process reforms were helpful. The key, however, was to first enact credible deficit-reduction packages — with spending cuts and tax increases — and then impose rules, like pay-as-you-go, to prevent backsliding. Process reforms alone avoid the hard work. Still, they can exert powerful political pull.

The White House and Congressional Democrats must not allow themselves to be taken hostage again.”

The ONLY way that the White House and Congressional Democrats can prevail is if we show the same courage as those seeking freedom in Syria, Egypt, Libya … we MUST HAVE THEIR BACKS. Forget the frustrate/PL – let’s mobilize all those who genuinely support our President and Democratic members of the House and Senate and make the Republicans run from ever even considering the harm they are willing to do to most Americans for the benefit of a tiny few rich folk. BTW, those rich folk need to get a clue because they truly do have the most to lose from their damnable greed.

    Thank you!

Loved the video that Fred provided. In the words of PBO, “they think we’re stupid.” The repubs have over-reached again and to their surprise, people are on to them and ready to fight.

The budget issue will not be like the HCR debates etc.

So true – It’s like some Americans have finally had enough of having their intelligence insulted by Republican lies, and they are finally showing that frustration. I hope it continues! The Republicans have to start being afraid to peddle their lies like they’ve done in the past, and they better start offering some real solutions to the very real problems being faced by this country. The stakes are too high!

Finally people are seeing what that other team has been working on for years which is to bleed the middle-class and the poor dry. This is a smart savy group because they even quoted the CBO and now that other party is running away from their own idea of voucher… As the President said their budget plan is radical and changes who we are as AMERICANS.. I don’t want to see the elderly living in the streest or eating cat food because they have to choose between medical care or eating steak.

I don’t understand the Republicans, they are the ones who wear their religion on their sleeves. They talk like they are the only ones who know who God is. But it seems to me they have forgotten somthing Jesus spoke of. He said take care of the sick, the poor, the needy, the hungry, those in jail, he didn’t say take card of the rich. And that is all the Republicans care about doing. The rich.
