At 12:25 Breitbart claims that Bill Ayers admitted writing the President’s first book … err, see here  … it’s surprising, I know, but Breitbart doesn’t get it ….. Ayers was ‘taking the piss’, as they say in Ireland 😆

troy davis

Hi people. I don’t know if you’re all familiar with the case of Troy Davis who is on death row in Georgia.

Former President Jimmy Carter:

“This case illustrates the deep flaws in the application of the death penalty in this country. Executing Troy Davis without a real examination of potentially exonerating evidence risks taking the life of an innocent man and would be a grave miscarriage of justice. The citizens of Georgia should demand the highest standards of proof when our legal system condemns on our behalf a man or woman to die.”

You can read more about the case here, here (Amnesty International) and in this 2007 Washington Post article (here)

Please consider signing the petition to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole here

Troy’s mother Virginia died a few days ago, after 20 years campaigning for her son.

Thank you to Troy’s friend Sarah for letting me know about the petition.

lift-off

Orlando Sentinel: President Barack Obama plans to attend the April 29 launch of space shuttle Endeavour, adding even more star power to NASA’s second-to-last shuttle launch, according to a White House official.

The president will bring his wife, Michelle, and two daughters, Sasha and Malia, to the launch, now scheduled at 3:47 p.m. a week from Friday.

…Obama already plans to be in Florida that day for a commencement address at Miami Dade College…

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., severely wounded during an assassination attempt in January, also is planning to attend and watch her husband, Endeavour commander Mark Kelly, lead a crew of six into orbit. Supporters see the trip as a sign she is recovering from her gunshot wounds.
