The Obama Diary 
Good morning everyone
Tragedy and irony in Texas. Devastating, state-wide wild fires; lives and homes lost; firemen injured. Rick Perry, the governor who talks about seceding from the union and has no good words about our president, had to make that call to have Texas designated as a disaster area to receive federal funds and other aid. You never know when you will need the hand that you bite. A lone state would not have access to these resources. Maybe now he will begin to understand that we are a union; one out of many as our president always says.
The bible tells us that the people suffer because of their leaders. Let us pray for our fellow citizens that God keep them safe and deliver them from this tragedy and the narrow-minded-ness of their leaders and others in their state.

You mean the folks who are always talking about too much big government, is calling that big government for some funds.I have always said that these people hollow about big government, till they need that big government. Now comes that nasty Governor of Texas. Ain’t that a trip. These people are something else.
CEB, How much more ironic can you get? May those who suffer today find healing and safety. This points out so clearly yet another discrepancy in the tea party’s core beliefs as they claim they want a smaller government….well that is until they could really need some help!
Hey everybody/chipsticks, I’ve watched this Facebook Townhall announcement several times this morning. It’s just cute or something? It cracks me up everytime he starts talking about “friending & defriending each other”. He knows his Dems! Too funny!
