flashback …. prying eyes

CNN (April, 2010): On the driveway right outside the White House briefing room, a place where President Barack Obama rarely strolls during public hours, CNN caught a rare and personal exchange between the first couple.

Flanked by Secret Service agents and personal aide Reggie Love, Obama spotted his wife near the West Wing entrance and tried to get her attention. “Hey FLOTUS,” he shouted, then added, “I was just looking for you.”

The president joked, “Stop it guys, I haven’t seen my wife in a while.”

The first lady, who seemed poised to deliver an affectionate greeting, was thwarted when the president said, “Let’s not do this in front of the cameras.”

Instead they held hands and walked together into the West Wing like a married couple that had not seen each other since one of them made a quick jaunt to Prague to sign a new nuclear arms treaty.

Thank you Dia 😉

How precious………………..*SWOON*, they’re giddy like school children – they practically ran toward the WH, I’m blushing. I do realize that the president and his lovely family are human and thus fallible (on most days at least) -but while everyone else is getting caught in so many indiscretions (cough, Jesse Jackson, *cough* John Edwards, *eyes rolling*) they prove that you can have a passionate, vibrant, loving, marriage – LUV IT!!!!!!!!

I bet he wanted to give her one of those big romantic 1940’s kisses, where he grabs her in his arms, bend her backwards, and lays one right smack on her. Ahhh. I bet once they made it through the door, they just stopped and smooched, right infront of SS and WH aides. Ahhhhhhhh 🙂 🙂 🙂

Neither do I, but then again I never really kept up with any of the other first couples.

I actually wasn’t aware of the term either until I started to Watch “The West Wing”. And even then I was a late comer to the show. I didn’t start watching it til it was on DVD 3 years ago!.

I think it’s cute, I think it’s their secret affectionate name for each other, that has deeper meaning, and can be said in public as opposed to “Sweetie” or “honey” 🙂

I can’t get enough of POTUS and FLOTUS off-scripted moments, it’s so romantic, sweet and so genuine.

Can’t be easy to live your life in front of the camera. I know they expected these things when he decided to run,but still it can’t be easy.

I love the way he loves her. I feel even more secure in his leadership knowing that he “desperately” loves her. The trust, admiration, and full-on love that they have for each other and express so naturally is a To us as well. A leader who has such a relationship is grounded and more able to do his/her job when the domestic side of life is a source of comfort and joy.

I almost feel sorry for other husband’s whose wives sigh and swoon over PBO’s example and look at them and ask: why don’t you treat me like that?

I can’t help but think that a lot of the people who hate him are just jealous.

They are beautiful whether the hate brigade likes them or not.

Look at that swagger. If I saw a man walk towards me like that and tell me he was just looking for me, I’d be completely oblivious to the cameras. Michelle has far more restraint than me.

I love the President for what he has done for black women. No, we aren’t all jezebels, mammy’s, baby mama’s and video chicks. Having lived and worked all around the world, I can tell you that some countries have a very warped image of black people especially women. Thank you Mr President for telling the world that we are bright, beautiful, intelligent, educated, smart and of marriage material. Thanks for letting the world know that we are loved and desired like any other race of women. Thank you for just being you.
