So bizarre that the only reason we have to have this battle in the first place is, once again, because of that Texas dummy, Bush! Clinton put America on a path to fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets. Bush went and gave rich people a tax cut and now they are fighting tooth an nail to keep it at the expense of America’s downfall!

    Oy vey!

Really all Obama has to do is NOTHING. If he let the Bush tax cuts expire once and for all the debate is over. Of course it’s simply not that simple because Repukes bring out that same old “he’s raising your taxes and spending it on welfare” broken record. And stupid voters believe it every single time.

What really bothers me is we will get a handle on the debt and the republicans get back in charge. They will see is a excess money and run up the debt again.
    It happens every time.

That is why we have to work really hard to see that the rethugs dont ever have control of the House, Senate and the Presidency for as long as this world will still exists. Because when the Dems build, the rethugs run it dowm.

…”tool” is a kind word. I have not a whole lot of words for him, but they are not so nice. I think he is not use to working and President Obama has demanded that these people (Congress/Senate) do their jobs!

I was thinkig as I read his tweets(?) how strange it was to see him use the word adult in connection with the president sans liberal/ so-called progressive, sneer.I was so shocked I had to double check that the tweet Ms. Chips posted actually came from Whiny Weiner without the typical bawlin’ and wailin’. Will wonders never cease? Color me shocked and somewhat(haha) speechless :))

The speech was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I’m seeing tweets like “where has this Obama been?” He never left!

I, and I’m sure everybody apart of the TOD family, can say that we’ve never turned our back on him. He never ceases to amaze me. *Standing Ovation*

collegekay, I was stunned. Not On My Watch is a great campaign slogan. Yahoo. I have not been in good spirit the past few days, but this lifted me to a higher plan. My world is good.

I’m so GLAD that President Obama Is our LEADER, trust me when I tell you, that I don’t know to much about Government, Legislature and Politics, but the way President Obama layed out his Budget Plan, sounds pretty Good to me. Sounds like a Fair Budget, that will Include reducing the deficit , but yet Investing as well. I think I’m going to like It. Thank you President Obama 🙂

Anyone who asks the question “Where has this Obama been?” just hasn’t been listening.

they say that every time he gives a speech. Usually followed by this word – “Finally!”

Exactly. If we were to Google those words, we would see it come up over and again. You are right. They say that every time. They need to really look themselves in the mirror.

Audrey, I could not agree more. I was thinking of telling my niece that very same thing more or less: “that this is as good as will ever get” in our lifetimes so take notice, get on the PBO love train, spread the message of all the goodness and enjoy this presidency before you miss out and miss your chance to be a part now of the glorious history he will undoubtedly leave behind.

Krugman is declaring that the speech was better that they feared. What was he fearing? Dam ass.

Simply brilliant for our President to go to Georgetown to give the speech. That is where the new voters are at the colleges and as he travels to reinforce these goals to more of the american people face to face it will sink in. We as his supporters need to shout it from the rooftops and spread the news. This was a wonderful speech and he was so realistic and honest about the House. We need to put to opponents feet to the fire just like the way everyone came out of the woodwork regarding the Planned Parenthood debate and embarrassed John Kyl with his “misinformation” that he tried to spread. Mr President, we’ve got your back.

Just finished listening to the entire speech on whitehouse.gov (the clip here stopped in the middle).

Once again, the only adult in the room spoke clearly and plainly. No need for pundits and commentators to tell the viewer what he/she can see and understand for themselves. He spoke to us as if we all are reasonable grown-ups. He set the standard and led by example. I am actually looking forward to the thrust and parry of the upcoming debate and negotiations. The legislators and the country have been at a stalemate for far too long. It is time to get our house in order.
