    Did you guys catch Rachel tonight? She was SHRILL! Screaming about cuts, alleging we would lose 700,000 jobs, etc. Obviously, this is not true. She reminds me of Keith right b4 he left msnbc. It appears the president is driving the evening anchors at msnbc stark raving mad! heh

    Yahoo news, AP, reports that some of the Cuts may be “sleight of hand.” Well, knock me over with a feather! Our president did that?? Really?? Heh

    “WASHINGTON – A close look at the government shutdown-dodging agreement to cut federal spending by $38 billion reveals that lawmakers significantly eased the fiscal pain by pruning money left over from previous years, using accounting sleight of hand and going after programs President Barack Obama had targeted anyway.

    Such moves permitted Obama to save favorite programs — Pell grants for poor college students, health research and “Race to the Top” aid for public schools, among others — from Republican knives.

    The full details of Friday’s agreement weren’t being released until late Monday when it was officially submitted to the House. But the picture already emerging is of legislation financed with a lot of one-time savings and cuts that officially “score” as savings to pay for spending elsewhere, but that often have little to no actual impact on the deficit.

    As a result of the legerdemain, Obama was able to reverse many of the cuts passed by House Republicans in February when the chamber passed a bill slashing this year’s budget by more than $60 billion. In doing so, the White House protected favorites like the Head Start early learning program, while maintaining the maximum Pell grant of $5,550 and funding for Obama’s “Race to the Top” initiative that provides grants to better-performing schools……”

    PL hysterical for nothing again. Well done, Sir!

      Color me not surprised. The Obama team is clever, clever !!!

      I can’t believe Rachel screamed there would be 700,000 jobs lost. Ridiculous. WHERE did her team get this information ??

        I’m done with Rachel. And I’m particularly disgusted that she was on twitter yesterday promoting Cenk Uygur’s hit piece on the President. In case we forget, it was she who first unleashed that unruly Republican/Libertarian Dan Choi to use the DADT issue to beat up on the President. Not too long ago, Mr. Choi was seen hobnobbing at the CPAC conference, cheering on that racist loser, Donald Trump.

        Rachel Maddow does NOT and never will speak for me.

          Despite, no longer being a regular viewer, and for two years I was religious, I have been trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Gulf Disaster, lead up to the repeal of DADT, Lt. Choi, now this…….I’m done. She refuses to account for reality, and is presenting from an idealistic position. Somehow, my sense is that her ego has gotten tied up into her attitudes towards President Obama, that is a weakness IMO.

    I sent that Rachel Maddow an email and I told her exactly what I thought of her ranting and raving. I told her that I was sick and tired of the Progressive Left attacking President Obama all the time. I told her that I am not like that Verma woman, I will never refuse to defend my President, because I believe he is doing the best he can to look out for all Americans, to do the right thing. I told her that I trust and respect this President, might not agree with everything he does, but I trust him. I promise myself that I would not get to ugly or nasty, but I just wanted her to know that I fed up with her.

      No they won’t stop complaining. That’s why we who support this President have to speak up too. We can’t be like that Verma (I forgot her last name),who told the world that she get tired of defending him. But we will never stop defending our President because we have, no we got his back!!!!!!!!!!

    May God continue to bless our President. He works so very hard for all people.
    As for as Rachel maybe she is pms’sing. You know we tend to view life from our emotional perspectives. Weak, pessimistic. Strong, optimistic. I don’t watch those shows. I hear what is going on in tv land by you alls comment. You have to chose what table you are going to eat from. A diet filled with supportive dialogue will prevent you from a roller coaster ride of emotions. Chips, BWD, OFA and others are feast for the minds of those who are supportive of our President and our country.

    Every time I read this poem I am assured the President is the only “man” in the room.

    Rudyard Kipling

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
    Or, being hated, don’t give way to hating,
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

    If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with triumph and disaster
    And treat those two imposters just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
    And stoop and build ’em up with wornout tools;

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breath a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on”;

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with kings – nor lose the common touch;
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run –
    Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
    And – which is more – you’ll be a Man my son!

    Thanks for bringing that poem to notice. I haven’t heard it, nor thought of it in years, but it completely says what needs to be said. Kipling could have written it just for our president.
