compare & contrast

See here for the C-Span video of Democratic women senators speaking today about Planned Parenthood, etc (Thank you M and Ladyhawke)

Then, compare and contrast:

TPM: Getting worried over the direction of the ‘shutdown’ debate, more than a dozen female Republicans from the House held a snap conference late this afternoon to push back on women’s health, Planned Parenthood front.

It goes really, really badly:

More here (including a quote from Rep. Marsha Blackburn – she said that the Democrats’ spending was “economic child abuse”. Seriously)

Sign the letter to Boehner at Planned Parenthood. There is a link to the letter on their front page:

    http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

    Tweet it, Facebook, tell others.

I have been calling Republican representatives today. If they haven’t heard from you, they need to hear what you have to say.

I know! All the republican women are just angry and ugly acting. And who’s the tall chick who always comes out with Rusty and the guys and stands in the background grinning like a fool? Gawd, these people just make me sick.

Yes, that one in particular drives me crazy, because she always seems like a high school cheerleader, but has no real role in the gig. I don’t know who she is, but someone needs to talk to her about the gang she’s hanging out with – they are up to no good, especially with regards to the future of women in this country.

She’s the one from the Boston Massacre (where President Obama destroyed the Republicans with knowledge, facts and brains) who talked and talked and didn’t give the President a chance to answer. She seems unhinged.

    No comparison.

The Democratic women come armed with facts; they provide details about exactly how title 10 funds are used to benefit women in health care – cancer screenings (Mammograms, pap smears), STD prevention, birth control, etc.
The Republican women are simply screaming and attacking Senator Reid. No facts. No details. Just yelling and screaming like their Teabagging rulers.

Facts versus blahblah – incoherence – more blah, blah, blah fact free gibberish. Go figure.

I called my GOP rep and had several others do so, asked my brother to call his GOP rep in the southwestern part of the state, he told the rep’s aide that the GOP should quit playing political games with people’s lives and that they didn’t seem to care that people would suffer because of their actions.

Had Boehner been a legitimate House Speaker, he’d have a $ 78 B deficit reducing budget and would, justifiably, be bragging all over broadcast TV that they wanted $ 100 B but got way more than half of what they wanted.

Instead, he attacked women, girls, and the neediest among us and those female Democratic Senators framed him in a way this morning that he (and his Republican colleagues) will not escape – irrespective of whatever budget is passed – from now until ED 2012. Stupid little orange man, really stupid.

There is nothing for Boehner to be bragging about. Some Democrats want to show the people, the Independent voters that they are serious about cutting the debt also, but you see the Democrats are not being lead by a bunch of crazy stupid idiots like the Tea Party. Some people want to talk about Obama leadership, what about Boehner leadership? where is it? Nancy Peplosi would have done a better job. Who are the ones who have showed the American people that they are willing to work together, to compromise, to do what is best for the people? It has been the Democrats. Boehner has nothing to brag about, he and his crazy tea bagers are willing to let our troops and their famiy go without pay. They are out there putting their lives on the line, and this is the thanks they get. It is a disgrace what the Republicans are willing to do, to allow this government to be shutdown. A disgrace!!!!

Wake up voters! Wake up voters! Wake up voters! People put these Republicans in control of the House in 2010, either by voting for them or not getting out to vote. Well 2012 all of us have to get out to vote. This is to darn important. Let’s do our very best to get rid of the Tea-Republican and Speaker Boehner. I want Nancy back to work with our outstanding President.

Wasn’t there a report that came out saying that Democrats are actually scientifically smarter than Republicans? Maybe that explains why the Dems come armed with facts and debatable arguments, and Republicans only come armed with emotion. And why Boehner can’t frame his argument.

You know your messaging is bad when you get angry in front of the press, and the press laughs as you hurry off toward the nearest exit. LOL I’ve always been very proud of the democrats, and the women in the Democratic Party, too, because they ALWAYS come armed with the facts. EVERY FRACKING TIME.

  8. April 8, 2011 at 8:07 pm

That’s what I was wondering — was the press laughing at her or were her colleagues laughing WITH her.

Mean Jean really lives up too her name. I’m surprised that Crazy-Eyes-Bachmann didn’t step up as spokesperson for the ladies and come out with her usual fantasies. Or were we lucky enough to miss that?

I believe Bachmann actually has said take out the riders and make the deal.

Indeed she did, StR. Along with Huckabee and Senator Sessions.

Which goes to show you that they really aren’t THAT crazy.

But, they DO understand their audience – who IS. And, if it means bein’ bat-shit crazy in order to succeed..what did “Rusty” say? “So be it”.

I am on a mission today. Thanks Suzanne. I sent the letter and tried to call but the voice mail is full for my congressman. I have already been calling my other Represetatives and also John Kyl.

Now some of the R are coming out and saying just get the deal done we have more important things ahead that shouldn’t cause a shutdown. The tea party exc is even stating that they are not advocating the Planned Parenthood rider and to move one.

And as you all are saying the Rep women are silly and nonproductive while the Dems were prepared and professional.

Hopefully, as many Americans as possible got a clear picture of how unprepared to govern the teapublican women are today. They came off as not only unprepared but unprofessional, lacking gravitas, and prone to making emotionally-charged statements in a bullying manner.

Headline on Huff so I won’t link.

“Jon Kyl Is Sorry If He Gave Anyone The Impression That The Things He Says In Public Are Factual”

I posted earlier that I called John Kyl’s office to report an incorrect statement that he made about Planned Parenhood. He said: That “90%” of what they do is Abortions. I know I wasn’t the only one but look at
this headline. I know we all sent the letters and called but I am tickled since I ID’d him specifically. 😆 😆
