Media Matters: Jack Cashill, author of the charmingly insane book Deconstructing Obama, claims to have unearthed yet another shocking bombshell about Barack Obama’s past. According to Cashill’s WorldNetDaily column this morning, this photo of young Barack Obama and his grandparents in New York is a forgery into which Obama has been photoshopped:
Cashill writes: “The bench is real. The grandparents are real. The wall behind them is real. Barack Obama is not. He has been conspicuously photoshopped in. Who did this and why remains as much a mystery as Obama’s extended stay in New York.” He embeds a YouTube video that claims to have uncovered the “real” photo, seen below, in which Obama is nowhere to be seen:
Actually, to say Obama is “nowhere to be seen” isn’t quite accurate, given that the young future president’s right knee is still somehow visible in the “real” photo:
So yeah: Jack Cashill is a clownish buffoon. Be sure to tell that to the hosts of Fox & Friends the next time they have him on national television. Also, drop a line to Andrew Breitbart, who is quite enamored of Cashill’s “convincing work.”

Alex Pareene (Salon): So, yes, this is actually just a picture of Barack Obama’s grandparents hanging out in New York, where they did not live and where Obama was attending college, without their grandson, who was I guess secretly in Pakistan, at the time. I think that’s what has been definitively proven here. Obama was being a Marxist Muslim in Pakistan.
But unmentioned by Cashill is the single most insidious part of this deception: While Barack Obama is nowhere to be found in the unretouched version of this photo, his knee is still in between in grandparents.
What was Barack Obama’s knee doing in New York, while the rest of him was in Pakistan, and Indonesia? Dealing drugs? Why are mainstream journalists afraid to ask tough questions about the president’s detachable knee? The people have a right to know!

The Presidents Grandfather’s arm was cut off in the “Real” photo.
They also photoshopped out his grandpa’s hand in their attempt to erase Obama. Sad. And this is really stupid because even if he was born in Kenya he could have easily moved to the US as a baby and grew up with his grandparents and mother. These people are really reaching. They should just cancel the RNC event next year.
They may do just that. They may just run a “generic” candidate because none of their real candidates hold a candle to President Obama’s big toe.

My husband is a professional retoucher. He just said he can see the retouching work where they took patterns of the brick and repeated them on the wall to extend it. He said the blurring of the photo is most likely to mask the bad retouching rather that authenticate the photo.
That especially, and the disembodied phantom leg, and the missing arm of Grandpa. I mean, it’s not even GOOD PS work. Those paint repeats on the right on the wall are just LAZY.

Desperate action by desperate people. Why is it so impossible to simply accept that Obama is a mixed American citizen who has roots in every community.
Besides, Obama is living proof that It takes a village full of passion, ideas, discipline and love to raise a child regardless of their race.
What a psychologist would probably tell you is that it’s all rooted in fear. And fear has a funny way of manifesting itself.
Where that fear comes from varies. For some fear of the black man. I suspect for most it is fear of change. Obama, being the first black president who is obviously qualified for the job, is a very powerful symbol of that change. So therefore, connecting the dots, they are fearful of Obama but they don’t exactly understand why.
So they need to try rationalize it with these conspiracy theories. The only way they can convince themselves they fear him for the RIGHT reasons is for these conspiracy theories to be true. They DESPERATELY need them to be true.
Can it be that the most important factor in the fear of white people is that they’re seeing their majority vanishing ? In the near future, visible minorities will constitute the majority in America. That’s the CHANGE they’re REALLY afraid of. So it’s not necessarily the fear of HIM, but the change in demographics that he represents.
On the other hand, the GOP establishment, the bankers, the big money lobbies, both on a national AND an international stage, fear HIM. HIM, Barack Hussein Obama. The man who has electrified the world. They’ve VERY aware of his power, his ability to make people engage in democracy and demand change. Much more than any specific policy, what they’re afraid of is his capacity to WAKE people UP, to transform America and the world towards a place where ordinary people have their fair share of the global wealth. THAT’S why, in my opinion, the opposition to this President is unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
