oh dear…

TPM: The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office’s initial analysis of the House GOP budget released today by Rep. Paul Ryan is filled with nuggets of bad news for Republicans.

In addition to acknowledging that seniors, disabled and elderly people would be hit with much higher out-of-pocket health care costs, the CBO finds that by the end of the 10-year budget window, public debt will actually be higher than it would be if the GOP just did nothing.

Under the so-called “extended baseline scenario” – a.k.a. projections based on current law – debt held by the public will grow to 67 percent of GDP by 2022. Under the GOP plan, public debt would reach 70 percent of GDP in the same window.

In other words, the spending cuts Republicans would realize in the first 10 years would be outpaced by deficit increasing tax-cuts, which Ryan also proposes. After that, debt projections under the plan improve decade-by-decade relative to current law. That’s because 2022 would mark the beginning of the Medicare privatization plan. That’s when, CBO finds, “most elderly people would pay more for their health care than they would pay under the current Medicare system.”

If the current Medicare system were allowed to continue, CBO found that an average 65-year-old beneficiary’s costs would be only 25 percent of what it’d be in the individual private insurance market. Under the GOP plan, those costs would jump to 68 percent.

In plain English, “the gradually increasing number of Medicare beneficiaries participating in the new premium support program [the GOP’s Medicare privatization plan] would bear a much larger share of their health care costs than they would under the current program.”

Thank you Ladyhawke 😉

One thing you can say about the right-wing wackadoodles, they can lie with a straight face. Oh, I forgot, crazy people do that.

Looking at the book that Ryan is holding(The Path To Prosperity) reminded me of the Twilight Zone episode where aliens came to earth and told the people that all these wonderful things await them on another planet. Some gov agents were trying to decode the language in a book they got from the aliens (To Serve Man) and at the very end one of them figures out that it was cookbook.

If you need a reminder: The agent says it 2 minutes in.

Egg on his face! The GOP is a joke! I find it amazing that seniors are still supporting this party, in fact, it is pretty interesting that Republicans are being supported by anyone but the wealthy.

Who writes up these budgets? It certainly isn’t pretty boy Rep Ryan. I don’t think anyone in the Congress knows how. It is written by the special enterests. I hope that little talk President Obama had with Rep Boehrer made his face turn from rusty to ashen.

Heard on NPR Sen. Kent Conrad interviewed about budget. He said Ryan’s doesn’t consider all the wide-ranging aspects of the budget construct, such as entitlement spending is 60%, military is 20%, revenue is 20%; and that people want to restrain the spending, but when asked about the most important spending cut, they settle on foreign aid, which he said is only 1% of the budget. Also, he said that PBO’s proposal is not up to snuff because it doesn’t curb the long-term debt. I will have to look into all this to understand. Has anyone seen the President’s proposed budget actually?

Something about his red eyes makes him look a bit demonic. Do not like him. My intuition tells me he is spiteful and hateful of PBO.

Yes. He looks like a grown up version of “Damien” from the Omen. And this looks a like a scene straight from a horror movie.

Paul Ryan is a nut job. I’ll never forget the night he gave the Repug response to PBO’s state of the union. It was like the Repug Machine said: get a good looking, mild mannered guy to deliver the doomsday address. It was so creepy how he was like: it’s the end of the world, the sky is falling, you will burn in hell if you don’t listen to what we (the axis of all evil:Repugs) say. then he would smile all personable-like. I thought: what a creep. This guy is someone who if they said he was a serial killer, I would totally believe it. He’s such a windbag. Rising Star my tush. If this creep is their superstar, then God help the repug party, because Lord knows they need it.
