are you fired up?

Thank you tigerfists88 😉

Time to get Fired Up. Are you ready, it’s cool to be fired up my friends. We got a lot of work to do. If we work half as hard as President Obama we will win this again.

I’m fired up. But I have to tell you guys — it’s going to be a battle. I post on many forums and a lot of people aren’t happy with PBO. I think folks expected him to work miracles. SMH. It’s up to us to get the message out. This is going to be an ugly election.

What’s their alternative? What would they have done differently, and how would they have gotten those things through Congress? They can’t just sit on the sidelines and whine – they have to live in the real world and operate within the bounds of reality. I’m sure the President would have liked to do more, get more done, help more people – but Congress writes the laws and passes the laws, and with the right wing obstruction – it’s a miracle that he managed to accomplish all that he has. I have little patience for people who see progress that has waited for 100 years, and pooh-pooh it as though it was possible to do more than what was done. They need to get off their butts and help get more REAL Democrats in office, who can help to bring about the changes they wish to see. There are plenty who are ready to take this country backwards, and there really isn’t energy to waste coddling those who would rather complain that be useful.

I don’t think people understand how government works. PBO is doing the best he can.

We have an incredible lesson in MLK, and the civil rights movement. A movement that is still in progress, still requires our attention and engagement. It highlights just how slowly the wheels of change turn. No magic button, no switch to flip,
just ongoing determination, effort and perseverance. We keep moving. Theo67 is right, we all play a role, and have a civic responsibility to help steer the course of change. Sitting on the sidelines, waiting for miracles is delusional and self-destructive.

I’ve mentioned Politicususa.com here recently, arm yourself with this http://www.politicususa.com/en/the-dirty-thirty-the-tea-party-war-on-america-april-2011-edition, and a comprehensive list of this administrations accompolishments to date, and open a conversation. If people insist on being ignornant, especially willfully so, then they are part of the problem and not contributing to solutions. The potential to unify a majority of 98% of Americans, increasing the power and influence of our collective voice against self interest and status quo is how we win this battle. For those that can’t see this, they will yield the opportunity for a better future. Armchair quarterbacking from the sidelines, while the remaining 2% grab more power, more influence and upsurp the rights, and diminish the opportunities, and ultimately the lives of the majority of Americans.

Young people, especially, need to be awakened to the potential damage current trends and agendas can cause. They have to realize they have skin in this game, their futures are on the line.

Theo, I’m so with you. I haven’t the patience either for illusionists. If they wanted magic, they should join the circus, hey? PBO is a president, not a dictator, and even if he so chose to be a dictator, how much chance would a black man have had convincing bigots he knew what was best for them? I like the acronym BWTB’s, cause that’s what immature voters ultimately are.

Anything worth having requires hard work most of the time. Most people have short memories. If the so called people who are not happy with our President and those who have conveniently forgotten the 2010 Mid-term elections especially in the states of WI, FL and others and if the progess that our President has made is so minute and that he is so terrible then let us not lift a finger so that the other party can take this country back to a downward spiral. It is so funny that we expected so much of this President and he has delivered and when we all sat idle while the other one took this country to the brink and yet we complain still and expect this President to perform miracles over night. How ungrateful most of us. And why continue to eat from different tables and tell us who are not happy with our President. I am not happy that others feel a need to share this information. And if the President does not get credit, whoever tries to, is a liar and a thief.

I had my phone interview with the Eastern Regional Director for OFA last Thursday. I’m hoping I picked for the summer camp, but it doesn’t matter. I’ve signed up to volunteer, regardless.

I’m fired up. I’m ready to go. I’m in!

Bless this man and Ms. Childs. I’ve signed my husband and me up for a hundred a month for the duration. Then I’ll get actually fired up day after tomorrow, I’ve caught the stomach flu from my daughter, and I truly am exhausted.

I’m going back to bed now. Love to everyone here.

I hope the OBAMA DIARY FAMILY members will make donations to his campaign this week. I made a donation of $30.00 and more will be coming. Please remember that President Obama will need as they say $1 billion dollars to beat back the Right wing nutjobs. So we better try to make the total $2 billion dollars..

I saw tim pawlenty’s ad which is biting; its going to be ugly ya’ll….
