We had a good candidate that ran against Ben Quayle and he still won. I did phone banking for Jon Hulburd and was told by many Republicans that they would NOT vote for Quayle but they did anyway.
So, so, so true – whatever about that Quayle fool, the idea of Rand Paul trying to be funny?! He’s just nasty by nature. But I have to admit, I seriously love watching them turn on each other!
‘….everything they say that they intend to be witty sounds so bitter, petty and resentful.’
My thoughts exactly! That was painful to watch, and I can’t imagine the people being made fun of would laugh at those ‘jokes’. Also, the audience wasn’t all that tickled. Quite a contrast with the jokes I watched at the session Prez O, VP Biden, etc were at! Another thing I noticed is that they both struggled to get their points out – their delivery was very clumsy. I don’t know guys, the President has set such a high standard, these guys look like dross.
The Republicans provide the national template for bullying. I am dead serious. They are base and mean. They aren’t funny because they can’t hide their personal contempt.
You are absolutely right, Sue. I have never seen so many so called “politicians” so full of hate. Their followers aren’t any better. Maybe after this display from these loons, the media folks at this event will wake up.
Back when I first came to this country when Congress was a different breed, the likes of Paul and Quayle would have been laughed out of town. Media folks like Sam Donaldson would have made mince meat out of them.
Today Cantor can gullibly say that a house bill without going to the senate would become law of the land and nary a media person in the press room questions his assertion.
Then it dawned on me. The press people themselves are just as clueless as this bunch. Go figure.
Republicans are just ugly. I could probably come up with a more vivid word, but Chipsticks might ban me from the site.
I have to admit that Rand P. and potatoe Quayle are among the worst newcomers.
I find both Rand Paul and Dan Quayle and their respective fathers to be despicable, self-serving phonies!!!
Just their faces scream jerk!!!
I hope the Dems have somebody to run against Ben Quayle. He’s one smarmy little punk.
LOL at smarmy little punk! He definitely is.

Is he up for a rematch? Quayle will have a voting record to run on that can be attacked.
I think the Right don’t understand comedy. Why is it that everything they say that they intend to be witty sounds so bitter, petty and resentful.

Yeahhhhhhhhh, and me too Chips Lol

Painful indeed.
I keep telling everyone, President Obama and Mrs Obama have set such a standard that will be hard to meet or beat!!!
They’ve done it so seamlessly and so unassumingly that folks seem to take it for granted!!!
But you just wait, long after the Obamas have left office, folks will desperately yearn for them!!!
They may be eating each other alive, but sound pathetic. These fools probably think they are funny.

Personally when the WH gave the program on bullying I thought it should have been for Congress and the MSM, seriously.
These people just can’t deliver a joke. They don’t seem to have the feeling of internal joy that it takes to laugh without being outright mean.
SMDH – Sad, it’s like a couple of drunks telling you what they really think.
