birther busters (update)

Hiya people,

I was always determined to just ignore the birther dimwits because their stupidity is intensely boring, but ‘Mary-T’ contacted me recently and convinced me that we have to fight back against these nutjobs with plain old facts.

Sane Americans dismiss these idiots and find them acutely embarrassing, but there are still plenty of independents who are curious about this racist crap.

So, I’ve added a birther-busting links section in the panel on the right, direct your ‘independent’ pals to any one of these truly brilliant sites and all their questions will be answered.

In other words, let’s fight the hate with facts. I know, it might be hard to believe, but a black man can be an American.

I know it’s been posted before but please add this link to the “birther busters” section, as well.

It can’t hurt to slap them upside the head repeatedly, with what they claim they want to see. Since the MSM fails epically in doing so.

I’m on my own personal campaign to correct these idiots. A few weeks ago a man sitting with us briefly at a restaurant make a snide remark about “Obama’s birth certificate” and not knowing if he was born in the U.S. I told him “yes he was, and his birth certificate had been on TV for you to see.” The other lady at the table said “Yes, his mother was a U.S. citizen. That’s good enough for me.” He shut up. I think many of us have perhaps let these comments slide, not wanting to get into arguments. We have to stand up for him and what is right. My husband said it won’t make any difference, but I just said he needs to be called on the lies. We need to stand up. So, thanks Chipsticks for helping us. I’ve used Factcheck often when my husband gets some of those awful far right emails that are lies. I send the link with the correct information back to the sender. I may not change their minds, but at least I stood up for the truth.

I think it’s very important to follow your inner prompting. Good for you for listening to your wise inner voice, Chipsticks.

I absolutely agree with standing up to this nonesense. Doesn’t matter if it is fueled by racism, ignorance, or intent to manipulate for political gain, we gain on all fronts if we stand up and insist on the truth.
