moneygall mania

Okay, you all know that ‘There’s No One as Irish as Barack Obama’ song? Well, it’s been re-made – same tune, but now it’s called ‘Welcome Home President Barack Obama’. 😕

They made a video for it in Moneygall on Saturday, here’s a slideshow of photos from the day:

…and the faces of the people looking at the bust say a lot about how the world feels about our wonderful President.
Thank you, Chipsticks, for providing this video. It makes me smile and appreciate how my all-time favorite President keeps changing the way the world looks at America.

        FEEL YA !!!

that bust excited in me the same feelings I had when he was campaigning in the primaries and even more so
        when he WON the nomination.

I feeel so sad..that other countries see and appreciate his greatness like America doesn’t.

But THAT Bust just renews my vigor and belief in his greatness.

EFF those that don’t GET it!!

This man and his song just completely made my day! A million thank yous to the world community for continuing to celebrate, sing, and uplift during this period of change when cynics are working overtime to depress us. Deeply appreciated.

Loved the tune, they way they pronounce “Barack” with the accent on the first syllable, the joy in all the lovely faces, the director’s voice in the beginning asking everyone to kindly line up somewhere behind him, and the complement they are paying to our beloved President. Anyone who maligns him makes me feel a knot in my stomach; anyone who seeks to identify with him, make him their own, understand his challenges and appreciate his heart and mind, becomes a kind of blood brother or sister to me. Also though I am a mutt too I have Irish ancestors and have gone to meet my distant relatives still in the old country. The President will have a blast over a pint.

I can’t help thinking about the great “beer summit” he could have in Ireland. Also, I know this is negative but, it must really make O’Reilly mad to see the attention paid to the man he loves to condescend to. I don’t think anyone will be rudely interrupting our President in Ireland if he trys to have a conversation.

Which of the O’Reilly clan do you speak of? The last name O’Reilly is as prevalent an Irish sir name as is Patel in India, and Smith in America.

I think cuphalffull is talking about Bill O’Reilly of fox news. who is always condescending and rude when he talks about the President and I also think cuphalffull is referring to the superbowl interview President Obama granted Billo the clown and billo the clown kept interrupting the President a million and one times. But the President came out smelling like roses and Billo came out looking like a CHUMP 😀

    Lyrics:

    O’Leary! O’Reilly! O’Hare and O’Hara
    He’s Moneygall-bound, is Barack Obama

2011, in the month of May
In Moneygall town an historic day
To His great great great great grandfather’s home
The President’s back among his own

The Obama set dancers will put on a show
In Ollie Hayes’ Bar the Guinness will flow
And Megan Smolenyak and Stephen Neill
The President’s Ancestry, they will reveal

Toor a loo! Toor a loo! Toor a loo, toor a lama
    Welcome home, President Barack Obama

    The President’s cousin, Henry Healy
Will be tellin stories like a seanachai
About Fulmouth Kearney, he’ll tell him it all
The finest shoemaker to leave Moneygall

From Malin! To Mizen! Out in Connemara
They’ll be welcoming President Barack Obama!
Toor a loo! Toor a loo! Toor a loo, toor a lama
    Welcome home, President Barack Obama

They say he’s a great man to sing an ould song
He’s holds a great tune and it won’t be long
He’ll step up to the stage, just wait and see
And he’ll sing, “There’s no one as Irish as me!”

Toor a loo! Toor a loo! Toor a loo, toor a lama
    Welcome home, President Barack Obama

Toor a loo! Toor a loo! Toor a loo, toor a lama
    Welcome home, President Barack Obama

Toor a loo! Toor a loo! Toor a loo, toor a lama
    Welcome home, President Barack Obama

I can’t wait for President Obama to visit the UK and Ireland. Hopefully I will get to see him arrive in London. Does anyone know the date of his visit to Moneygall. I am really excited about that part of his visit as my ancestors are also from that part of Ireland.
