the dregs

March 7:

VAN SUSTEREN: What would you do about Libya?

GINGRICH: Exercise a no-fly zone this evening …. We don’t need to have the United Nations. All we have to say is that we think that slaughtering your own citizens is unacceptable and that we’re intervening.

During appearances that same day, Gingrich also said that he would provide help to the Libyan rebels on top of the no-fly zone: “This is a moment to get rid of him. Do it. Get it over with.”

After the President initiated a no-fly zone over Libya:

March 23:

LAUER: Do you think Moammar Qaddafi has to go as a result of this intervention?

GINGRICH: Let me draw the distinction. I would not have intervened. I think there were a lot of other ways to affect Qaddafi. I think there are a lot of other allies in the region we could have worked with. I would not have used American and European forces.

****

Steve Benen: This received no pushback whatsoever from host Matt Lauer, who may not have realized that Gingrich has been saying the exact opposite for weeks…. I don’t doubt Gingrich will remain a media darling, invited onto national television on a daily basis to present arguments unchallenged, but that doesn’t change the fact that no one should take this pseudo-intellectual clown seriously.

I don’t doubt for a minute that Lauer is one of them ReTHUGS

Lauer is one of the biggest douchebags around;I had the pleasure of meeting Ann Curry at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport (I am from Chicago;not native but have lived here for 12 years now )and Curry was nothing nice and sweet 😀

Isn’t Lauer the one who ran to Alaska to fawn over that quitter governor up there immediately after the election, and give her an unchallenged platform to peddle her racism and ignorance? That told me everything I needed to know about him.

Te GOP are a group of stupid Neanderthals that have no idea that fire has been discovered, and the wheel has been invented.

They clearly have zero knowledge that video exists, let alone any basic understanding of how it works.

Newt has no chance, but I hope he doesn’t realize it because he could do some damage to Romney by attacking him on the similarities between Romneycare and the ACA that Mitt is trying to run from.

Newt exemplifies all of what the GOP is – contrarians that stand for nothing other than the opposite of whatever President Obama is doing. Wonder why many of the assumed candidates have not made it official yet – because they don’t want to be on record for anything because they’d end up just like Newt. If you agree with Obama you will be pilloried by the right, so you have to disagree even if you really don’t. If you’re not officially running, you can say nothing and not be pressed on your silence.

It’s all political theater and the media (including this site unfortunately) fall for it every single time.

If Obama says up, they say down. If he says left, they say right. They may agree with him in a very low key on the odd things just so their disingenuous criticisms appear more genuine. Rinse, repeat.

75% of it is all BS that they don’t really believe themselves.

I just want to take a shower every time I see Newt Gingrich. The man is vile. Matt Lauer is useless. All he can do is read the teleprompter and ask canned questions with no ability to challenge spin and lies. How he could sit there and not challenge Gingrich is really pathetic. It’s hard to know if he just didn’t know that Gingrich had said the opposite about Libya two weeks ago or if he knew and just didn’t want to challenge him. Either way his performance was a perfect example of lazy reporting. How you could prepare for an interview and not know that is amazing. The research department should be fired.

Newt is repulsive. When he made that film about Obama a year ago, I realized he has to be one of the sleaziest people on any planet. Thank goodness, Tom Delay is out of the picture. I hope he enjoys looking out of his prison bars.

Matt Lauer’s popularity has been running off that Tom Cruise interview but he’s not a real journalist. And I’ll never ever forgive him for chastising Michelle about raising her children in the White House (like it’s some sort of crack house and like he hasn’t been cheating on his wife for years which is definitely not a good environment to raise children), asking if she’ll take his kids tater tots, and starting off the interview with a policy question about Egypt when she was there to discuss Let’s Move.

All these chat show people including Mr. Laurer knows damn well that these people are all spewing bullshit but they choose to let them do so unchecked over and over again. Meanwhile they would interrupt and concern troll every word our president has to say. I am so tired of this.

I am very disappointed in Matt Lauer and Barbara Walter. I guess to Ms. Walter a black man is good enough to have in her bed, and have an affair with, but not in the White House as the President.

Mr. Liar will want man to challenge him because when God issues the challenge, Mr. Talk out of both corners of his mouth will not be able to stand the punishment. No word that proceeds out of your mouth returns void. Out of an abundance of the heart man reveals it through his tongue. Mr. Liar has always been a liar, this what he does best. No personal integrity and honesty whatsoever.

Chipsticks, never erase this and bring it back again when need be. We need this for the anti-smear campaign we should all be a part of.
