‘impeach obama over libya? you’ve got to be kidding’ (updated)

Earl Ofari Hutchinson: Perennial congressional gadfly Dennis Kucinich completely lost his political screws when he even uttered the word “impeachment” of President Obama over his action in Libya.

Kucinich has often been the lone, outraged voice, in blistering Obama on everything from his tax cut compromise with the GOP to his Afghan war policy, but the Libya outburst made no sense by even Kucinich’s radical rhetoric standards.

…Obama backed the Libyan no fly zone because the United Nations Security Council by unanimous vote backed it. The House Foreign affairs and intelligence committees backed the action. The Arab league backed it. And nearly every humanitarian group around has backed it. But most important, he backed it because it’s the politically and morally right thing to do.

Kucinich and others would have screamed the loudest if Obama had done nothing and Gaddafi slaughtered thousands in a revenge blood lust rampage against the rebel groups…

…Kucinich and some of Obama’s severest critics among Democrats real goal is to send the message that they don’t like a lot of what Obama does and they will pick at every little issue to dramatize their pique at him…

…At any other time, Kucinich would lustily demand and cheer the action Obama and the UN took. The fact that he and few others don’t, but chose to nitpick instead, tells us more about their ongoing political anger at Obama than any real concern over whether Obama snubbed his nose at Congress. Impeach Obama over Libya, you got to be kidding. When Kucinich uttered the word even Obama’s Democratic critics howled at that delusional thought.

More here

Just sayin’:

Hey, nothing’s changed – Barack Obama is still dealing with life on earth 😉

Before I leave my work desk for my trip home, I must say that Earl Ofari Hutchinson is one of POTUS’s most consistent critics. So Kucinich must really be off his rocker for Mr. Hutchinson to so warmly appraise POTUS’s actions when so many many black men, especially, are ballyhooing the decision. Can’t wait to see how this all washes, and I do hope and pray that this conflict ends succinctly for all involved.

I started typing that very fact before I left my office but decided to leave for home instead. I agree with you. You know Kucinich has lost his ever loving mind when Earl Ofari is coming to the president’s defense. Lost his mind indeed!

I’ve pretty much had it with these scaliwags.. whatever their stripes, republican or democrat. Seriously.. Dennis, a Democrat is going to suggest on national teevee that a Democratic President be impeached for following a UN Charter/law that we are a member of.. and you’re going to suggest this while he’s out of the effing country toboot??? What a MORAN.. and frankly, a loser. Your WhiteMan superiority is showing..sir.

Lets be honest, we can bet our bippies that all of Congress, even the knucklehead right wing repubs sent for copies of that UN Charter the second POTUS made his decision.. and they had every staffer available reading all the fine print.. so lets be clear, there is nothing impeachable here.. POTUS will have dotted ALL his i’s and crossed ALL his t’s, because thats who he is.. so Dennis and all the other politicians pulling this nonsense are doing it for attention, notoriety, election hopes… or they have even more sinister motives. About time we the people started questioning their ability to lead, their intelligence and their freaking motives, imo. And the media, heh.. all imbeciles.

If there had been any chance that this had been an impeachable offense, the republicans in the House led by Issa would have been on Fox beating the drum and leading the charge. I detest using this kind of language, but sometimes, there’s not other way to say it. Kucinich can go f*(k himself.

I saw an argument about this on TMP, where there are a number people on that site that are very familiar with the constitution.

Since PBO joined the UN, he is required to follow the mandate of the organization. The UN sanctioned this offensive and that meant PBO was in essence required to follow those rules rather than the American Constitution. One of the UN credos is that if the leader of a country goes to war against his citizens, those belonging to the UN must orchestra a plan to end the slaughter of innocent people.

So it seems our president was totally right. Of course people on this site already knew the president was doing what he was supposed to do.

Dennis Kucinich you can cry all you want against our elected CIC, and I stress Elected President Barack Hussain Obama, but you still are not going to be President. So cool it, nobody is listening to you. If all you fools out there can’t shut your month because of jealosy then say your words in front of the mirror at home.

I just cried today I got so frustrated. CNN wasn’t that bad this weekend, but the other Channels have had a full onslaught of Military Analysts, Congress, Diplomats, whomever is against the president’s actions is welcome to come on and bash Obama to their heart’s delights. Joe Sestak was on 4x bashing him on msnbc. How dare the prez use the White Man’s Imperialist, World’s Best Military, to save brown folks who are Muslim/Arab/African is what it comes down to to me. I read a story that Ambinder did on how they decided; and this took my breath away because I wasn’t prepared for it:

“Hillary Rodham Clinton said instability in Libya threatened to clip the democratic aspirations of its two neighbors, Egypt and Tunisia. She was also worried about the message to Iran if the U.S. and its allies did nothing in Libya: “””America was so afraid of committing its military to protect Muslims and Arabs that it would allow virtually anything to happen.”””

If you twitter or email when your upset, you should do it now. They usually correct things if they’re misinforming/lying on msnbc; but frankly, I’m wearing down. I NEED HELP!

Sweet Cat48, what I would like to see is an organized twitter group that blasts any network when they misbehave There is power in numbers and this baby msm needs a spanking. Think Wisconsin and how a few became thousands. Dry your tears and breath in some healing energy being sent your way. Whenever we read an article supporting our President we need to send an e-mail or twitter supporting them. I have noticed on some message boards that more are coming around to defend President Obama and fighting back the crazies. Chipsticks thank you for providing an outlet for us to keep up with whats good and not allowing the creapy critters to get in to mess up your site.

      Hello from Europe,

Just wanna say that you are not alone there are many of us out here.

If this helps anyone with a better understanding what the president did was legal. Dennis is not playing with a full deck but there are some other DEMS on the far left who equal his unbalance mentality. But in Dennis defense at least his somewhat consistent, he did the same towards Bush.

      retort for the loons:

Because the United States signed and ratified the treaty establishing the Charter of the United Nations, Clause 2 of Article II of the United States Constitution requires us to honor the UN’s decision to intervene in Libya. Kucinich overreacted by claiming Obama may have committed an impeachable offense.

Article II, Clause 2: This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby; any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

Thanks, Debra. I feel better, but that was before all these liars showed up on TV whining should not be there; should be there, but TOO slow; impeach him!, etc. Just idiots! CNN wasn’t cheerleading this weekend; but they were not slamming the prez like msnbc was. The military, retired; are pissed cause the prez is not asking for Regime Change! The Resolution DID NOT ask for that! Scrrrream!

        March 21, 2011 at 8:24 pm

Yes, I watched a few hours of MSM this weekend, and finished a whole bottle of wine to cope with the onslaught. But, I have to admit that CNN was better than MSNBC. CNN tried to report events, and were fairly measured in their analysis.I couldn’t stay on MSNBC for more than five minutes at a time – as you said, they had every retired service person on there, talking about “taking out Gadhaffi(?)” and insisting that we were going to change the regime and/or send in ground troops sooner or later. They were clearly trying to write their own reality – and they also couldn’t wait to state how it was too late for fly-over stuff now, as though we can turn back time, or as though the President was just twiddling his thumbs for the last two weeks. They seem to love war, and they can’t understand what this humanitarian intervention, and limited scope, are all about.

        • 26 Dorothy Rissman

They always bring on those old military guys who hate any president with the, you know what, to challenge them. Got I hate those retired generals.

Plus, I admit, I have been drinking a little too much myself. the narrative is so ugly, that I lose my balance.

Hey people don’t only get mad at Kucinich which I’m sorry to say is from my state of Ohio, but get mad also at those who have puffed his ego up over this last year, mainly those like Ed Shultz. Ed never waste any time bringing Kucinich on to bash the president. He had the sanctimonious Joe Sestack on bashing the president on his radio show this afternoon.

You’re right, bjw2. In fact, that is exactly how Alan Grayson lost the midterms. His ego got so huge from the likes of Schultz and DKOS after the Health Care Reform Debate, that he went too far and couldn’t beat the Teabagger who ran against him.

        Absolutely!

From here on out I draw the line in the sand. For every democrat that speaks out publicly about this president in this way I’m getting on the phone and calling their office. Last week I called Anthony Wiener’s office and gave him a piece of my mind. From here on out every democrat that speaks out like this against this president I’m calling them and telling them since you’re no better than the opposition in your public demonstration to take down this president, when and if you’re up for re-election I will be donating to your republican opponent!

      Yes! Tell it!

Ed Shultz is the culprit! He was the one advising folks to stay home during the mid-term election and now here we are. I’m not going to tell y’all what names I am calling that little twit, Dennis Kucinich!

      March 21, 2011 at 10:06 pm

Joe Sestak was on our local black talk radio saying in kinder words how he “hopes we did the right thing” giving his take on how things should have gone. I wanted to say,” you should have done the right thing to reach out to the black audience of said station, maybe you would be “Senator” Sestak right now, if you had played your weeny little cards right.” Mr. Navy man is a bunch of talk after the fact. Can’t believe the host contacted him when he couldn’t hold his own against a Tea Pary favorite.

I would have rather seen Sestak elected than the Republican, but he has never resonated with me as being sincere, and always seems to be trying to hard to impress us with his “heart”. I have learned to value my instincts, although I don’t rely on them solely.

He used Obama conveniently, in pursuit of his Senatorial ambitions.

Dennis-The-Menace is an idiot, I’ve thought so since the day I found out he was suing the congress’ lunch room because he chipped his tooth. What a frickin crybaby. Can’t stand him. He’s all sour grapes. When PBO did that tax cut deal with repugs, I heard someone on one of those talking head shows say that Menace would be good competition for the Democratic ticket in 2012. I agree. I think we need to start holding these irresponsible racist idiots accountable once and for all. Let them know that we are on to them, and we will not be manipulated into re-electing a Republican in 2012 just because their stupid egos can’t tolerate a Black man as President.

        March 22, 2011 at 12:49 am

        Agree 100 percent!!

I am of the thought that EVERY single time these guys get on the airwaves and spout their foolishness, we — collectively — get on the telephone and jam their offices. We call them, calm and coherently tell them that we are not going to sit idly by while they pile on this president, especially in the face of all the obstacles he is facing. It is bad enough that he is getting crap from the GOP, but to turn around and have the likes of this Kuchinich guy and others rag on him because they have axes to grind will not be tolerated.

If any of them could have won the presidency, they would have. They tried and failed because no one was buying what they were selling with their extreme rhetoric.

I too, called Weiner’s office last week and told the fellow that answered the phone to tell Weiner that he was way off base with this criticisms of the president.

  18. 52 bjw2
    March 21, 2011 at 8:01 pm

Everyone, silence means consent. As long as we stay quiet their voices will become stronger. One of the problems we face is that the MSM will always invite those on their shows to augment the narrative they push.

Just like the narrative that the people like Ed Shultz and the other talking heads pushed that the president needed to go to Wisconsin. Well that narrative didn’t gain traction until Ed shultz started pushing it.

My frustration comes from the fact that I see what these people are doing but becauswe we do not have the microphones it’s hard for us to push back, so as Sojia said we must come up with a plan to start pushing back.

Dennis = lost to Sen. Obama in the primaries. Jealous.

Weiner = was probably promised a sweet assignment by Hillary if she’d won. President Obama winning squashed that dream.

Sestak = tried to hurt PBO with his story about being offered a job to drop out of the race. If he was offered one, looks like he should have taken it since he lost to a tea party loon. Bitter.

They’re all just pissed because President Obama is his own man, is brilliant and will not allow them to tell him want to do, when to do it.

I just emailed Kuninich and though I am not a citizen of Ohio, as an American citizen I felt I had every right to let him know how I feel. I gave him a piece of my mind and let him know that words do have consequences so he needs to be really careful about what he says. He will hear from me again and again if he keeps up this nonsense. I do believe “that NO weapon formed against President Obama will be able to prosper” ! God has His hands on our President and I am loving these beautiful pictures of our 1st family. They are OBVIOUSLY sincere and honest, caring and loving people! I thank my God for them everyday. Thanks Chipsticks and BWD for helping me to feel like I am on this trip with the 1st family.
Great and wonderful news I got today. I got 3 tickets to the Easter Egg Roll on the White House Lawn on Easter Monday. I am sooooooo excited.
