The Chilean fan reminded me that the President’s approach to other countries has me cheering for, worrying about, impressed with and generally drawing closer to the people of so many other countries. Places and people I knew little about before are now very important to me. Perhaps one could say I am becoming more a part of the family of man because of our President. He brings out the best in us as human beings. I appreciate being more popular as Americans because of this man but what’s far more significant to me is how I am becoming a better citizen of the world because of him.

Exactly and this new sense of awareness the rest of world keeps me focused. I don’t concentrate so much on what petty drama comes from all sides in our political discourse anymore. I feel above it, like now instead of being upset about whatever negativity is most likely being said in MSM today pertaining to POTUS, I find my mind drifting and wondering more about those beautiful people in that shanty town back in City Of God, like what are they doing today? stuff like that I never thought twice about.

I know how you feel…I never paid attention to people in other countries unitil now….I’m getting much better at being a citizen of the world because of him also.

I have two young nieces and they are really into putting all kinds of prints together. They mix and match their socks, etc. It’s just the thing to do, I think.

I figured it was something like that….my 12 yr old son can look a little odd to me also BUT he says “Mom, this matches” and looks at me like I”m all out of touch, lol.

Yup you are right proud. Young people are no longer following the stuffy idea of what goes with what. I think it is great. Malia, looks gorgeous in her dress. I immediately thought of her dress as being worn by a child, and then I thought, hey dumb bunny, she is a child. It is so hard to remember that.

It looks like a high-waisted skirt with a large bow on the front. I thought the pink were flowers but they just look like dots. Sasha pulls it of anyway with her personality.

      • March 21, 2011 at 1:57 pm

I think Sasha is the more experimental one, which pretty much describes a lot of fashionista’s.

welcome Ana Maria 😀 glad you’re not being a stranger anymore 😉 😆

we grown folks(although I am just 30 years old ;)) better realize that what we find strange and mismatch as far as the clothing is concerned is what is “in” for kids nowadays;hell my 24 year old brother wears weird colors(together) and when he sees the WTF look my face;he never fails to tell me that I am told and that I am outdated 😮 😆

cannot believe Sasha took off like that 😆

Our First Family looks so beautiful. I love it when Sasha and Malia are travelling with their parents. I like to see which young lady will be walking off of the plane with which parent. It is so lovely to see the different expressions on POTUS face when he is walking the each daughter. We are so blessed to being observing history of our First Family right in front of our eyes. Some of us will surely take all of this end, because for sure, I will probably be here to read it in the different books, so I try to take it all in now each and everyday.
On that note, I just want to again thank Chipsticks for this great site and to all of you who come here with such respectful comments with each other. Thanks for showing the way that we really can live in our country and world and respect diversity, and love each other all around the world. Remember, in one speech, POTUS said, “Let’s go change the world.” I will always remember that when I read such comments that you have shared here today. Thank you so very much!!

Now realised you added a vid of Michelle at the bottom there CS. Michelle is such a star and true royalty. Fraser(R.I.P) and Marian Robinson may God bless you both! What a fantastic job you both did in the upbringing of your wonderful, beautiful, kind hearted and intelligent daughter. I see too many youths particularly young black boys and girls today with so much more opportunities available to them and they just waste it. How difficult it must have been for you two to provide and give you son and daughter all that they needed in order to become the success that they are today. Mr Robinson I salute you for you immense dedication to your children. You never gave up despite you battle with your health. I reflect many times on all the prejudice and obstacles you may have experienced in your life, yet still you heldfirm for your family! Now that is a REAL MAN. Mrs Robinson thank you for being the woman a nation’s First Lady can follow. Thank you for sticking by your husband and supporting him in everyhing he did. Mother’s of today don’t realise that they are the first example to their daughters. So many times we look at the SUPERB woman Michelle LaVaughn Robinson is and think what a woman she is (not taking away from the hard work Michelle put in in order to be the woman, wife and mother she is today) but we never stop to thank those who contributed and shaped that wonderful woman we are blessed to call OUR First Lady! So with that I want to say Thank You to Mr. Fraser and Mrs Marian Robinson for all they have done!

Lovely P, just lovely. Thank you for bringing to mind Mr. Robinson, a man who worked hard to allow his children to soar in spite of his health problems.
