Sunday’s schedule in Rio de Janeiro includes a tour of Ciudad de Deus Favela (the “City of God” made famous in 2002 movie), a speech on U.S.-Brazil relations, and a tour of Rio’s famous statue of Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado Mountain.

I might be a little slower updating the blog tomorrow, but I’ll get there in the end 😉

Night everyone.

Masterful view! Chipsticks, I’m glad you ended tonight’s post with this majestic photo heightening our expectations for tomorrow’s posts. The thread before this one, “A profound place of sadness” kinda dampened the mood, but I do understand its significance and importance.

You’ve outdone yourself tonight, girl. So far, you’ve provided us unparalleled up-to-date accounts of the Obamas visit to the South America. I can hardly wait until tomorrow.

I’ll scramble to find live stream coverage, because the mainstream won’t cover it…they’ve got war on the brain.

PJ, You are right. I think Chipsticks is often able to pick up images that I have not seen anywhere else. I have to admit Chipsticks, that photo is stunning. I have only seen it from down below. This view is completely different feeling and the light is spectacular. It honestly feels very holy.

    Dear Chipsticks,

Have a peaceful rest and a relaxing Sunday. You have done yeoman’s service for all of us today. I feel as if I am with the Obama family on this historic visit. You have surpassed my greatest expectations in the way that you covered these events. Thank you does not seem enough. You lay out, every day, the truth about our president and his efforts on our behalf. Very few do this and certainly not as you do; showing the many facets of this remarkable man and his family.
I was trained in journalism back in the day when you reported the news instead speculating; when you checked and double-checked your facts before publishing anything. College students knew better than to do what is done today. It is so sad to see what passes for journalism these days. I left the field long ago, but I still remember when integrity was an absolute.
Thanks for giving us an alternative. Thanks for your hard work. Thanks for keeping the evil ones from our site.

    Good night

Let me also thank you Chipsticks. I really do enjoy the updates on our First Family, especially when they visit other countries. I’m not exactly fun of the media over here. The right is all about hateful negative stuff, and the left is too at times.

Fred, may I ask you why you have not been sleeping? Is it the politics and the anger?
