the all ‘new’ huffington post

Headline on the site today:

Here’s what Wanda Sykes had to say:

“Rips”? Really? She ripped Sheen & Gaddafi, she spoke sympathetically about the President.

As Tally pointed out, could this genius headine-writer possibly have meant “riffs”? Oh dear.

That is so typical Huff Po. I don’t think that was a faux pas by a dumbo. I think it was purposeful because that’s what they always do—post misleading anti-Obama headlines. Most people just skim the headlines there and voila! mission accomplished! anti-Obama message sent and received. Per usual.

LOL…..Tally, as you’re the first, I got my first belly laugh of the day. You are too funny. Also, my heart skipped a moment until I read that Wanda did not “rip” on POTUS. She happens to be very fond of him. Well, it’s Haggiana’s site. What else do we expect?

I’m so sick of these opportunists. When will Arianna declare bankruptcy and do us all a favor? They are putting so much evil out there – the karma is going to be bad for them…

An alleged progressive site misquotes a comedian to bash the most progressive president in nearly fifty years.

I believe Coach Parcells called it subversion from within.

Yawn, another misleading headline on HuffPuff skewing negative on Dems/Obama. What a surprise!

Used to go there all the time. Haven’t been for months now. Seems that site is almost as bad as Drudge now. Hope AOL takes a bath on it and Arrianna chokes on all that money she made from the sale!

HuffPo has been writing salacious misleading headlines for a long, long time. It’s all about the clicks and the dough and pushing the right-wing meme that PBO is being abandoned by everybody. Now that they are run by right-wing AOL, I’m sure this will be stepped up. Just sheer distorted propaganda. They make me sick.

What drives me bananas is that this person represents herself as the voice of the left. She is so obviously anti-POTUS and trying to dissolve his base of support it’s not funny. All of the people who have been led into “both parties are the same”-ville by Arianna Huffington were played, pure and simple.

I always say that Karma is a beech. One day this woman will be struck by a malignancy so great that she wouldn’t know what hit her. And I’m not talking about cancer, I’m talking about getting entangled by her own manipulative greed and dishonesty..and hate.

I knew that headline was phony as soon as I saw it. I have become increaingly upset with HP in the last couple of years or so. Those headlines are meant to ATTRACT the very stalkers I first went to the site to escape. Now that AOL.one of the most hateful sites on the web, owns HP time to find another progressive “home”.

She used liberals and progressives, who believed in her vision from the beginning, to create a mega-site which not only profited her immensely, but is now a major asset for the right wing.

      Check and mate.

Liberals need to stay far away from sensationalists, it’s that simple.

Ignorance is an unacceptable excuse for the writing of that outrageous headline which appears on a website that I shall not respect by acknowledging its name. The writer knew exactly what he/she was writing when he/she falsely wrote that comedian Wanda Sykes “rips on” President Obama.

The headlines at that internet site are always sensational, and ever since President Obama won the election back in November of 2008, the headlines have been slanted against him and his lovely wife. The site has always tried to diminish the accomplishments of our POTUS while continuing to push the false meme that “he’s losing his base.” The writers/editors have reduced FLOTUS to being just a source of fashion chatter, and they almost always choose unflattering photos when featuring articles about her.

The sale of that site to AOL has little to do with the partisan, tabloid journalism the former
    “fauxgressive” owner has always practiced.

I stopped linking to that site over two years ago, and I never plan on going back there. That’s why I stay away from unidentified links because I don’t won’t to accidentally give that site (or for that matter, any of the PL sites) any unnecessary internet traffic -— never again.

I haven’t been there since the election it doesn’t exist as far as I am concerned.

  14. March 17, 2011 at 6:00 pm

I believe that Tally has the headline fiasco right — a headline writer mixed up “rips” and “riffs,” and supporting that point is the following preposition, “on.”

You don’t rip “on” someone you just rip him — from limb to limb, depending on the language.

“Riff” also has a musical connotation — a riff on Mozart or Duke Ellington. A riff can be used as an introduction to a quartet or a band.

The writer was just ignorant of the word. A stupid mistake. And I do enjoy Wanda Sykes. And I never did enjoy Arianna frozen face Huffington. Too many face lifts will do you in, Ms. Huff.

I totally agree Joan. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that they have no PAID PROOFREADER or EDITOR that’s smart enough to catch it.

Or they DO, and they let it slide because it fits their pathetic agenda.
