At a lunch on Capitol Hill on St. Patrick’s Day, President Obama told an audience, that included plenty of Republicans:

Now, speaking of ancestry, there has been some controversy about my own background. (Laughter.) Two years into my presidency, some are still bent on peddling rumors about my origins. So today I want to put all those rumors to rest. It is true my great-great-great-grandfather really was from Ireland. (Applause.) It’s true. Moneygall, to be precise. I can’t believe I have to keep pointing this out. (Laughter)

He just keeps pointing out how stupid they are in such a funny, classy way. Republicans are just so dumb.

As a kid I would ask my dad where our family came from and he would say North Carolina. Thinking he didn’t understand, I would say before then. He would give me that look and say My family has always been in North Carolina before any one else came here. Until my sister and I research our family history I did not understand that this was our native land.

There are so many things I love about our president, but his sense of humor is one of my favorites. His ability to be witty are one of my favorite things about him. I think it puts people at ease.

This is what I love about my President among other things. He is sooooooooooooooo sharp!!!!! These people do not know what to do. This President is always out-thinking them with their petty thoughts, then he just comes in there and load off a ton of great wit. This is so cool!!!!! See how little they are when it comes to out-thinking this President. You keep that humor or truth , Mr. President. Take the little boys and girls to the playgroud and give them another lesson in history above grade level. Smart man!!!!

Dorthy, the President and First Lady both have a wonderful sense of humor. That is one thing I love about them. I remember Obama saying that she knows how to make him laugh.
