um, privately speaking….

On Thursday’s “Howard Stern Show,” comedian Sarah Silverman revealed details of a recent meeting with President Barack Obama…. “I actually love our president, and I’m enjoying some nice blind faith, like the others got for eight years. And I believe in him,” Silverman told Stern. (Silverman made a humorous video in the lead-up to the 2008 election called “The Great Schlep” in which she encouraged Jews in Florida to vote for Obama.)

Silverman didn’t disclose when the meeting took place but said that she was able to quickly meet the president in a hotel hallway. Obama aide Reggie Love and speechwriter Jon Favreau were also in attendance. “He shakes my hand, he goes, ‘Oooooo, I’m a big fan! You’re very talented! Although I turn the volume down when my girls come into the room,'” said Silverman, whose particular brand of humor is notable for its edginess and is frequently controversial.

Silverman said that Obama “jokingly” said, “Ooo, you helped me win Florida.”

“I was so nervous and excited,” said Silverman, adding that the president asked what project she was working on next. “I’m going to be naked in a movie!” Silverman nervously shot out. Silverman said Obama turned to her agent and said, “Oh, you’ll have to send me a copy of that,” but added that it wasn’t meant in a creepy way but more as “a gracious way to get out of” the awkwardness that Silverman had created.

The comedian planned to include the encounter in the paperback version of her book, “The Bedwetter,” but when she asked the White House for a copy of a picture taken during the hallway meeting, “They said, ‘For what?'” Silverman recalled. “‘That was a private meeting! You can’t write about that!’ So I had to take it out.”

The meeting remains firmly ingrained in Silverman’s memory, however. “Oh my God, he gave me a big hug,” said Silverman. “His body is like a thoroughbred. It’s just, like, pure muscle.”

Thank you so much Sarah Silverman…

Loved that too, Chi! I found the story on the hideous Click section of Politico, which I refuse to link (still waiting for them to block racist comments under their stories, it’s unbelievable). I loved her account of the meeting, but felt a teeny bit uncomfortable that she was reporting the details of a private meeting. Am I being silly??

        Dear Chip-

I absolutely do not go near Politico…

Thank you so much for venturing into the dark pit, just so we don’t have to…

We all owe you so much Chip…

        Thank you…

Meant to add that I do know what you mean, but I suppose in sharing about this meeting, she does say something I’ve hoped someone with a voice would…

That other Presidents have been given eight years before been judged or dismissed…

For that alone, I suppose I could forgive her for her lack of discretion…

Sarah is just like us. She has faith in the president and does not have to demand of him as others do.
She is a wonderful kook. How lucky she was to get to meet with him privately. He met with her in the hallway, so everything should be fine. But when one has to deal with the msm PBO has to be incredibly careful in everything he does. Particularly a handsome president like PBO.

yeah CS its definitely tmi and cringy but honestly I find it interesting. It also brings back the first time I heard potus say motherf***** and other blushable words on the audio of his book. I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaat did i just hear but the baser instinct in me liked hearing him curse. *cheeks turns red*

Well she didn’t reveal anything significant except how that hug felt. Oh I need a shower.

You’re right Proud, I’m just being overly cautious about private chats with the President being made public – I loved her account of the meeting, it’s a hoot!

She’s a hoot—-she has no fear. Anything is liable to pop out of her mouth, most of it hysterically funny. Enjoyed her on The View today. And loved the vid she made for the election, making the case for all young people to “schlep” to Florida to convince their grandparents to vote for Obama. It got lots of attention and I’m guessing it did a lot of good.
Also share her feelings about our pres.—-very unsurprisingly.

The only reason it makes me uncomfortable is because of those who lay in wait to exploit, twist and distort. I literally laughed out loud when she stated he had the body of a thoroughbred. I so love our President and as delicious as the package is, what is inside is so incredibly remarkable the outside pales in comparison. I so want him to have the respect and recognition he has earned….and the dignity that should be bestowed upon him for the simple reason that he breathes…he is a human being, and an incredible one at that.
I want others to see, understand and appreciate, and be inspired by what through his example is significant and possible. I’ve never had a personal hero in my life, that is, until Barack Hussein Obama. If I get to be half the person he is I will die a satisfied woman.

Loving your wording, Sue. He is remarkable, and I too dislike any connotation of him in a trivial form. Although we pine and kid on this site about his physical attributes, we are always respectful, but most importantly, devoted supporters who so appreciate the mental and spiritual strengths he possesses. I am one lucky citizen right about now 😀

Where have I been? Sarah back off sister. He is all mineeee. I just fallen in love with her even more. Go sarah I will watch your movie unlike Matt Damon who is jealous that our president is hanging out wit J.LO who dumped his friend Ben Affleck.

Wow, Me4Obama, I had forgotten the JLo connection. The timing of Matt’s “disappointment” is interesting since it happened aftr JLO was invited to the White House. And I don’t believe Affleck has ever been invited.

      • March 11, 2011 at 3:04 pm

Has Affleck declared his party affiliation? I’m asking because I see him with Cindy McCain (Congo issue) and I am reminded of the time I heard Megan McCain say that there are some secret Republicans in Hollywood – she knows who they are but won’t tell. Kind of like her father – he knows where Osama is and only he knows how to catch ’em.

          March 11, 2011 at 3:41 pm

I think Ben Afflect was down with our side during the 08 campaign but he strikes me and does fit the pattern of those white males, those “progressives”, the purists, who get their news only from the PL and run with that. Now I don’t have any evidence that he is now on the “i am disappointed in obama” side but I would not be surprised. I would be sad though cause I really like him. I never felt any emotion for the other guy, I actually forgot about his existence until he started bashing potus.

Remember how Damon said on the Pierce Morgan show that one of his friends said: “I no longer hope for audacity?”-I think maybe that was the friend. It would certainly explain why he’s gone over to the dark side. Plus, who the hell needs them? Obama has more supporters than both those two knumb-skulls combined:/ They suck. Sorry, I can’t help myself 😕

During the presidential campaign, she was solidly behind PBO. She is Jewish and created an ad for Jews to vote for Obama. She asked young Jews in this country to get their parents and grandparents to vote for BHO. It was very sweet. Every time she is on Bill Maher, she still supports the president.

Hey Proud of Obama it was reported in the Tabloids that Matt Damon didn’t approve of BENIFFER and he asked Ben to Breakup with J.LO to save his carrier. He has never been to the Oval office but J.LO has been there more than once at the whitehouse. So that boy is very annoyed of something maybe he will be invited after his public rants.

I hope he never gets an invite. I made a point of boycotting his new movie. Hubby wanted to go and I said no way. I see it opened at No.2 instead of No. 1. Hah! And who is he to tell someone who to love?

      March 11, 2011 at 6:46 pm

Interesting how critics like Matt Damon still kiss up to Bill Clinton who is actually guilty of everything they try to harshly accuse President Obama of! Please tell me who of these two Presidents sold out to wall street?!

Matt Damon should just be honest, take off the hood and join the other so-called liberals who just discovered they are not quite as colorblind as they thought.

The disproportionate anger, lash out and disrespect towards PBO from people like Matt Damon in my opinion is cover for other deep seated but subconscious sense of racial superiority!

Or else, how is it that a man as flawed as Bill Clinton is as far as Damon is concerned, deserving of every respect and consideration but President Obama is not.

How is it that Ben Affleck will easily overlook all that is glaringly wicked, dishonest, un-american, destructive and racist about Cindy Mccain and her husband John and family, reach out to the Mccain’s while disrespecting and demeaning and dismissing President and Mrs Obama!

Just does not pass the smell test, sorry!

As a loyal supporter, I continue to be impressed by the statesman-like qualities that our President possesses—-intelligence, charisma, shrewdness, poise, compassion, etc. Yet, as a woman (a happily married one at that), I couldn’t help but have less than “honorable” thoughts myself when I tried to envision Sarah ‘s description of the “thoroughbred” feel of his muscular body :). I know Ms. Silverman was being her usual comical and “controversial” self, but I kinda wish she’d kept that thought to herself—-only because of how the wingnuts might try to use it against him 😦

    • 41 majii
      March 11, 2011 at 5:48 pm

Don’t worry about the wingnuts. They’re just jealous because none of their politicians have the physical attractiveness or the other attributes you mention in your post that President Obama has. The president can’t control others’ reactions to him, not even women, but we know that Michelle has a lock on his heart.

Silverman was on ‘the view’ on Friday. She is very funny, although she did not talk politics on the show, she talked about her father. The story kinda show why she cares about people, she was raised by a parent who cares about the poor and detest greed. I believe that the reason we have so much hate and meanness in our country is that, many children are taught to hate at a young age and as they grow up, hate becomes a default emotion when things are not going well. I am glad that Silverman supports the president and she is not afraid to say so.
