I love when the President reminded Chip Reid that he President Obama sets the tone and determines what policy is in effect at every point – not some State Dept guy…

I also love how he keeps pushing back on the justification for military force as presented by the gossip columnists that make up the WH press corps…

Chi, you hit a nerve with me on your “gossip columnists” comment. I could not agree more. That is exactly what I call the so called journalists known as the White House Press Corps. Their questions are accusatory, snarky, and dripping with sarcasm. It’s not about getting information that informs the public, it’s all about “gotcha”. As usual, President Obama handled every question directly and thoroughly. BTW, I find the State Department briefings just as infuriating.

LadyHawke, have you ever watched a Defense briefing with Press Secretary Geoff Morrell, he takes no prisoners and eats up the press..

Why aren’t there more journalists in attendance? The empty seats speaks volumes, IMHO. And every question, especially Chip Reid’s, is dripping with CONTEMPT, IMHO. I’m sick of the way this president is being treated every single day, but I’m proud beyond belief of how he stands tall and does his job BRILLIANTLY. Hopefully, more Americans watched this press conference and it got more visibility with the earthquake/tsunami disaster leading the charge than the usual disinterest/lack of visibility afforded this man.

Thank you, Mr. President for your leadership in the face of so many disasters and so much obstruction and disrespect!

      Hey Lulu-

You can’t let these small, insecure people steal your peace and joy in enjoying our most brilliant, focused, decent and all around amazing President shine at every turn…

President Obama was in absolute control and pretty much conveyed as clearly as possible what he needed the American people and the world to know…

Chi, he did do a fantastic job. He never ceases to amaze me in his ability to truly understand everything he has to deal with. He is not flying by the seat of his pants, he know his business.

Little lulu my mom called me at work to tell me ever channel covered the Press conference. Yeah…so basically ever American who is not on line or can’t watch whitehouse.gov was able to hear the President talk about the Rethugs sneaky tricks regarding their social agenda with the budget…. Those bums need to write their own bill on social issues and vote on it…but they are cowards and won’t… The Repugs can’t govern……….

These fake reporters need to start paying TUITION for the education they receive from their press conferences from my president.

LOL Me4Obama! They certainly are being schooled. Dummies. President Obama is just so darn smart and informed and can speak on any issue. So presidential. And boy did he look goooood today. I know I am so shallow. I swear I do appreciate his intellect. 🙂

Oh I think we should celebrate all that is beautiful and good. We know you are not shallow, and certainly not blind!
Love our spectacular President, inside and out.

Hey Chipsticks there’s a new poll out today that shows Christie couldn’t get the repub nomination in NJ. Good numbers for the President, too. Here’s the link so you can write it up if you wish in your spectacular way.

Proud, this is indeed music to my ears. After that dumb poll that found Christie more popular the the prez, I thought I was going to get sick.

Go NJ. Oh but you know, Christie already knows he has it in the bag. Braggart. I am so glad our president is not like him.

  6. March 11, 2011 at 3:11 pm

I didn’t watch the presser. What did Chip ask?

The press corps has gone off the rails. Corporate interests, whether financial or political have had an enormous influence on their operating standards and practices. I think Chi’s analogy was spot on, as they contribute only slightly more than “gossip columnists.”

I think of them as chronic, and pointless shit stirrers. And I hold them largely, but not entirely responsible for the factually impaired state of our citizens. Proud of Obama, I agree they owe the President tuition, although continually schooled, they seem to be slow learners.

Lol, Fred! Your mom is a hoot! I so agree with her that on many occasions I wish President Obama would just flip them the bird and be done with the whole bunch of them!

Fred, your mom and I could hang. I say things like this continually at home and with friends. Let’s all keep praying for him. I said it before, I am not a so-called good Christian as I could never pray for those who would smite him, only for them to be smitten. Damn all of em.

I cannot tolerate this so called press corp….gossip mongers. For public interest sake, we should be given their qualifications for being in that room. Our President can swim circles aroung them with his intelligence, public speaking skills and common sense. They need to be schooled but I don’t believe they will ever learn. They are an embarrassment.

What cracks me up these reporters come to these press conferences thinking its going to be “lets see if we can stump the president time”, they all seem to be slumping in their chairs by the end of the press conference.

      March 11, 2011 at 7:11 pm

Yes, I’ve noticed that too! They get caught in their own traps that they set for the President – and they don’t learn!!

Hey Yall, I think the President loves these Press conferences because he gets to show the American people and the world how he can digest ever question and topic. He’s like a boxer in the ring who always scores a knock out. I love this President because he is smart and humble at the same time. Beleive me you, I didn’t want another President who could not absord the world….

Yes, because our President has a comprehensive knowledge of the facts and circumstances of every situation, while the gossip columnists’ “knowledge” consists mainly of partisian soundbites that they pulled off the blogsites and cable punditry. So when they ask dumb questions based on their weak knowledge, his responses make them look like the FOOLS that they are.
