‘this whole “teach obama a lesson” thing is working so perfectly, isn’t it?’

From Eclectablog

In Wisconsin. In Ohio. In Michigan. In Florida.

All across the country, the True Liberals’ efforts to teach Barack Obama a lesson are paying off in spades. Their plan could not have worked out more perfectly. After a year of shouting to the highest heavens about how much they were disappointed in President Obama and the Democrats, after a year promising to withhold their support during the 2010 Midterm campaign and, more importantly, at the ballot box, they got their wish: Democrats stayed home in droves. Huge numbers of Democrats across the country, many of whom had voted for the very first time in 2008, got up and went to the fridge instead of the polls that late Fall Tuesday.

Yesterday, in Wisconsin, the tea party Governor and his cadre of Republican Senators figured out a way to bypass Senate Democrats’ exploitation of a loophole that allowed them to put the brakes on a GOP effort to drive a stake into the heart of unions in their state. Most collective bargaining rights for teachers and public employees are now gone as if they were trash taken to the curb…..

….Last night Rachel Maddow said her staff’s analysis shows there are Republican-sponsored union-busting bills in the Congresses if no less than SEVENTEEN states.

Chipsticks, thanks for the link to Electablog’s site. It is an amazing rant, and he posted it on DK. I can imagine many of the comments are beyond ugly. Good morning.

Morning Dorothy! I absolutely loved the post, it is spot on. I’ve read a few Professional Left rants today and they made me laugh out loud – the same people who proudly boasted that they stayed at home for the mid-terms are now blaming the President for what happened in Wisconsin!!!! Their nerve is breathtaking. Do they seriously not get that by staying at home, as Eclectablog said, they allowed the Koch brothers’ stooges in to power???

So, their reasoning is, “I stay home and don’t vote, and let POTUS do all the work for me?”

  4. March 10, 2011 at 11:41 am

Thanks for the linkage, Chipsticks. That rant has certainly stirred up the sh!t. There are at least two response diaries to it at kos, one of which is really offensive and calls me every name in the book. It’s currently at the top of the Rec List.

    Good times, kids, good times.

Ha, I can just imagine the reaction, Eclectablog – the truth sure does hurt. What’s the Koch brothers’ favorite kind of Dem? The type who is now abusing you on DK, ie one who was too ideologically pure to vote in November.

And it’s interesting that some of the usual suspects are now stating that the midterms weren’t about Obama. That the turnout was no different from that of previous midterms. Yet just a few months ago, many of them were attributing the enthusiasm gap and depressed turnout directly to President Obama’s not doing enough for his “base.” Their contradictions are stunning!!

      Great post!!!

Brilliant, spot on rant, Eclectablog. And thanks for the link Chipsticks. These Pl guys are soo amusing, they tell the dems not to vote, teabaggers are in the end voted in, and now it is Pres. Obama’s fault? Unbelievable. And just popped in briefly on huff and boy, now they are ecstatic that Pres.Obama’s polls fell and the title with Potus’ photo reads, Everything that goes up must come down? Can you believe it, and the comments are horrible, from, he is a sellout, to he through us under the bus, and we are his “base” and we are not voting for him come 2012 and ofcourse its his fault of what is happening in WI. They guys are a lost cause me thinks. And as you guessed I ran out of there like escaping a tornado. America for sure needs Prayers. And all this nonsense not from the baggers, but people who profess to being Dems. Reaaaaaally sad.

EB’s article and subsequent diary over at dkos is absolutely brill. Its getting much positive and of course the obligatory visceral negative replies that permeates over there but most of all its putting facts out there which is so badly needed in the discourse. The degree to which some are taking their negative replies shows how much truth hurts and how they can’t handle facts.

Like I was telling my mom this morning;President Obama has turned himself like one of those famous Cirque du Soleil acrobat getting our Country out of the ditch;imposing Financial Reform;Health Care Reform;LGBT Rights with the repeal of DADT;START to the point that he’s gotten a lot skinnier that he already was;he’s gone gray;yet he gets bashed on a daily basis! 😡

How ironic that the White House is conducting a comprehensive session on bullying today. Bullying is being demonstrated at every level in this country….and we have alot of elected officials and individuals in the MSM that appropriately should be annointed as bullies, and should be called out for their behavior. And yet they all turn to one person, point their nasty fingers and shout it’s not my fault it yours…….fix it.

Individually and collectively, we need some deep introspection. People need to start looking at themselves and taking responsibility for what they contribute, productively or otherwise to something that goes beyond the perimeters of their individual existence.

I refuse to listen to the MSM today…I highly doubt there is constructively critical or fair analysis going on regarding the events in Wisconsin, and elsewhere. They are to busy taking advantage of the conflict and the controversey, and perhaps furthering their own personal agendas. F..k em!

Thank you Electablog for your excellent post at DK and, yes, everyone, the comments were the worst kind of viscous mud to slog through. No one can convince me that the concerted efforts of these brain-dead toads didn’t have everything to do with keeping Democrats away from the polls.

I suggested that the posters who insisted Electablog was off his meds, so to speak, should have their brains washed with strong detergent. What I didn’t add was that I wish I could do it myself. With a stiff brush. My blood pressure is at epic levels right now, and have been since last night.

Look, this article is exactly what I have been saying, they cannot blame no one but themselves, they tried to spite the President, and now they are getting spited by Walker. I do not feel sorry for them, maybe they have now learned a great lesson.
