Quinnipiac: First Lady Michelle Obama gets the warmest rating … when American voters rate their feelings about politicians and other national figures in a Quinnipiac University poll released today.
New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie is third … but 55 percent of American voters don’t know enough about Christie to form an opinion…..
1 Michelle Obama (60.1), 2 President Clinton (59.2), 3 Christopher Christie (57), 4 President Obama (56.5), 5 Rudolph Giuliani (52.3), 6 Mike Huckabee (51.8), 7 John Boehner (51.1), 8 Mitt Romney (50.4), 9 Tim Pawlenty (48.2), 10 Jon Huntsman (47.9), 11 Ron Paul (46.3), 12 Michael Bloomberg (46), 13 Michelle Bachman (45.6), 14 Mitch McConnell (45.2), 15 Mitch Daniels (45.1), 16 Donald Trump (45), 17 Rick Santorum (43.9), 18 President George W. Bush (43.9), 19 Haley Barbour (43.5), 20 Newt Gingrich (42.7), 21 Sarah Palin (38.2), 22 Harry Reid (34.8), 23 Nancy Pelosi (32.9)

WAIT A MINUTE, who did they poll? Most of the people on that list are crazy failed Republicans. Seriously, people feel WARMLY about Mitch McConnell??? What a JOKE.
Congrats to Mrs. O for taking the top!!
A truly odd collection of names – 17 of the 23 are Republicans! Very balanced!
That is what I was going to say. OMG! All of those loser republicans? I sure would be curious to have some information about how this poll was taken. Chris Christy? I have to go lie down for a while. I think I might faint.
The list looks a bit Toxic to me five democrats and eighteen Republicans and who did the voting. The First Lady and Presidents Obama and Clinton did pretty good in that environment.
Temperatures? who paid for this poll? I don’t care who came out on top, this was a silly poll.
How balanced. Bet this will be all over the news tonite. And really Bachman, she’s a filthy human being. I’m sure Beck and Limbaugh aren’t on this list, and Mahr while they’re at it.
*surprised* not sure. Sorry I’m still baffled.
THIS POLL IS BULLSh@T IN MY VIEW…IN OTHER WORDS,IT DOESNT MATTER!!!!
You ve got to be kidding me. Who carried out this pathetic so called poll? With all those knuckle heads on their, wouldnt ever want Our wonderful Dems, Potus, Flotus and Pres. Clinton to be contaminated with toxicity of those losers, haters, racist, bigoted republican wingnuts. Silly, stupid little poll.
This poll is really bogus. I glad Mrs. Obama ranked first but I think they added her name to bring the numbers down for President Obama. A lot people would be torn to vote between the President and Mrs. Obama.
The people that they poll watch a lot of televison because most of those republicans have been on televison. I also think that those that was poll watch alot of Fox news.
Pay no attention to those polls, good or bad. Never ever this much polling until President Obama came along. You can’t believe a poll if you don’t know the questions and how they are phrased. I was polled only once by that particular pollster. Don’t remember the specifics, but also, could not figure the relevancy at the time. Had something about an election. Other polls I’ve taken had a definite bias intent. Let’s just keep supporting and plugging away, and getting ready for the onslaught of 2012.
Ain’t that the truth. My goodness, it seems they poll every single day. It is outrageous. I have never been called in my entire life.
Great advice. This poll is a bunch of nonsense.
I’ll take this poll…….the 4 top politicians…3 are Dems…#1 & #2 will be campaigning hard for #4’s re-election….I like the odds since the president is .5% behind the NJ bully. The president could gain .5% in his sleep. Also, 0%, did not know who Barack Obama was. I’ll take it.
Basically, I don’t understand/trust polls. Having consented to being involved in a number of surveys, I never felt, based on the questions and the limited options in response, that the results adequately or accurately reflected my personal position. The legitimacy of them escapes me….and yet everyone and their brother conducts them. Dummy me!
Christie’s #3 position should be taken with a barrel of salt, since more than half polled didn’t even know him well enough. Therefore, his rating is based on a restricted sample of only those who know him very well (and are probably all Republicans). It’s not reflective of the country as a whole.
On the other hand, Michelle Obama, Clinton and President Obama are WELL known by the majority if not all of those polled, which means that their # 1, 2 and 4th positions are accurately reflective of how people feel about them. That is NOT the case for Christie and the boatload of other failed Republican candidates like Ghouliani, Fuckabee, TurtleMitch, and OrRange-boner.
Excellent points.
Analyzing the data, the sample for Christie and some other republicans is smaller. What surprises me, I have to say, is the results for Rudy Guliani. I thought he was widely unpopular. I don’t get it.
You don’t get it because you shouldn’t. It’s all a bunch of nonsense.
This nonsense is another slimy go at manipulation. This is about pushing a manufactured ridiculous meme and making an comical argument for Christie the oaf as a viable presidential candidate! If their nonsensical and phoney made up poll says that the buffoon in New Jersey is leading in the polls, then folks will buy the crap as will the idiotic and egotistic Christie.
It is only smoke and mirrors with a measure of manipulation. Big f#*!ing joke!
Exactly, and gee, why should we think that a rating is valid if 55-78% of the people do not know enough about the person to give an accurate assessment?
If we REALLY have to break this poll down based on the representative sample, we find that the Democratic politicians/national figures who are well known (FLOTUS-60% warmth , Clinton -59.2% warmth and Obama-56.5% warmth FAR exceed in likeability the the Republican politicians who are comparably well known (Donald Trump – 45% warmth, GWB-43.9% warmth and Sarah Palin -38.2% warmth.
And THAT should be the take home message. Mr.Christie instead of feeding his ego, should take note and be afraid. His 3rd place rating is not valid. Once he becomes well known, his likeability will drop precipituously and he will suffer essentially the same fate as Palin. In case any one forgot, Palin was once the highest rated governor among governors in the entire US. (But that was when she was still relatively unknown!!)
LOL – thanks ‘hopefruit2’for breaking it down – familiarity breeding contempt eh?
