‘our best days lie ahead’

BBC: The billionaire investor, Warren Buffett, has urged Americans to ignore “prophets of doom”, and believe that the country’s “best days lie ahead”.

In an upbeat annual letter to the shareholders of his investment firm, Mr Buffett said he was itching to make more large acquisitions. The 26-page missive is seen as an authoritative guide to the state of the world’s biggest economy.

He is one of the world’s wealthiest and most influential investors – as such, his opinion is closely followed.

Despite the American economy struggling to emerge from the recession following the financial crisis, Mr Buffett believes the time is now right to make some major investments. In his annual letter to his Berkshire Hathaway investors, he said his trigger finger was now itchy to invest in new projects, using some of the fund’s 38bn dollars in cash reserves. The news that Mr Buffett is seeking substantial new opportunities will be welcomed by many global investors.

I’m trying to hold on to the belief that MY better days lie ahead. 🙂 The other option is quite depressing. :-/

Happy Sunday, Chip and TOD family!

Hey Chip, just wanted to drop this article on the U.S response regarding Libya(http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/26/AR2011022604172.html?hpid=topnews.

As usual, our President (the only adult in the room) was looking out for….wait for it….Americans.
Apparently, we had an embassy full of Americans in Libya guarded by Libyan guards(who we did not trust) and not the Marines who guard every other embassy we have, so anything that
the admin said or percieved to have said could have gone ugly really really fast (kidnapping/killed). So while Pretend President McCain and Pretend Vice President Lieberman (is he not gone yet?Ugh) whine about how we should have been tougher sooner (WTF), we know the truth. And of course it being a rationale line of thinking, the media will never focus on this, so once again, it is up to us to spread the truth. Other than that, HAPPY SUNDAY.5 more days till the weekend, lol.

LOL at Pretend President and Pretend VP! I saw those two bozos; what a joke. They would have us invade every country in the world. Idiots.

Chipsticks, I see PBO and FLOTUS are hosting the governors at a dinner tonight. Would love to see feeds of them arriving, etc. Please.

Hello Proud of Obama, I was checking CSPAN and the White House.gov site and I haven’t seen anything yet about their arrival… I feel a little anxious because I have no information, so hopefully Chip will get to the bottom of this and get us that feed…:-)

m, Buffet has a good head on his shoulders and invests wisely. His first wife left him for California and it was a big adjustment. His second wife, Astrid use to wait on tables when the Buffets went out to eat. Warren and Astrid live in a home bought in Omaha, Nebraska in 1958 for around $31,000. He probably spent a bit more on his summer home in Laguna Beach, California He is so down to earth and when he has his yearly meeting in Omaha, it is always packed.

Of course I don’t have anything invested with him because I don’t have the nerve or smarts to choose wisely.
