What a great way to end a hectic week. THank you, Chip! That Jamie Foxx is something, isn’t he?! LOL! I love POTUS to death, but I have to admit, he can’t dance! Hee hee! Something POTUS can’t do well. Unimaginable.

Have a great weekend TOD family!

It’s something about tall men and dancing, they just won’t cut loose.

That was funny the comment how it wasn’t the black side of Obama dancing on the Degenerous show. I was always thinking the same thing…..lol!

I did not know that Jamie F. could sing like that. That was sooo funny. I have to admit, PBO does not seem to loosen up. I think he is great just the way he is.

Yep. Jamie Foxx is very talented. He won and Oscar for his performance in Ray. I remember him making a comment at the Oscars ceremony about being glad that his grandmother made him practice the piano when he didn’t want to as he was growing up. The guy can sing, dance, write music, and act! He also has a beautiful daughter. I think she is about 13 or 13. i remember Michelle did telling Ellen DeGeneres that she is a better dancer than her husband, and she was right, but it doesn’t matter to me that PBO is not the best dancer in the world. His intelligence, affable and good natured personality, openness, and natural good looks make his being a good dancer pale in comparison.

Oh, totally forgot about that. He was great in that film. Then again, he always is. One of my favorite actors.

I’ll try to keep it clean. While our beloved POTUS can use some dance lessons (he has admitted that he is not a good dancer) he has smooth moves that….well let’s just say that Michelle is very happy and blessed in a certain area. Okay, let me stop to fan myself.

I love the way Sasha Obama was laughing at the impersonation of her dad dancing, then leaned round her mum to check her dad was laughing too.

I am wondering if it’s that he can’t dance or just won’t “let loose.” When it comes to personal matters, the president in some ways seems guarded. I think dancing might be one of those areas where he’s not interested in revealing his “true self.” In his book “Dreams From My Father,” he talked about how his father taught him how to dance, and he also talked about how he learned all of the dance moves from watching “Soul Train.” When you look at his dancing debut on Ellen (back in the days when he was first running for president), he has the look of someone ready to breakout but not really letting go. I truely believe POTUS has the natural ability and rhythm to dance; he is just not showing us that side of himself. Afterall, what might the wingnuts say it he “busted a move” for the camera? 🙂

I have to agree with you NewCenturyWoman. I saw the then Senator Obama on Ellen and at the very end of this PBS program on the stage on Thursday, and he can dance but he is holding back big time. I have friends that dance like that at functions or with coworkers where they are more guarded, but “get down” around close friends and family. It’s a trust issue and the Prez is most definitely guarded. Maybe we’ll see more dancing in his second term? Remember when Dubya “busted a move” toward the end of his second term when he went to Africa and boy did he let his hair down and didn’t seem to care—good grief that was hilarious.

Of course he can dance. His moves as shown in public are as good as any white guy and there isn’t a human being alive with an ounce of black in them that does not have rhythm.

I don’t think he is holding back either. I am quite sure he could get down if he wanted but it’s just not his style. I don’t think he cares what the haters would say anyways. Yea, they are looking for any black stereotypes to attack him on and would if he did some ghetto moves but his style is such that he breaks those stereotypes. Very powerful stuff to have such an intelligent black president that does not exhibit any of the racist/bigot sterotypes.

I’ve always felt that the Prez was containing himself when dancing in public. Mrs. Obama lets loose a little bit more and she is a good dancer. Two years ago while watching the Gershwin Award program, awardee was Stevie Wonder, the President and Mrs. Obama were clearly, but somewhat reservedly enjoying the program, I said to hubby, “Look at them…you know they wanna just break out!” LOL!

Nah that ain’t it, he just can’t dance. LOL But that’s okay, my Dad can’t dance either and he’s Black too. It’s not that unusual to come across African American men (or women) who can’t dance.

I love Sasha’s reaction to Jamie poking fun at her dad. She really got a kick out of dad getting ribbed. More than likely that’s a laugh they all have at their dad’s expense when they’re alone as a family. I know as a kid growing up we made fun of my parents when they tried to bust a move and my son now makes fun of me.

    LOL…..The circle of life
