goodbye gibbs …. for now ;-)

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs with Vice President Joe Biden and his Communications Director Jay Carney in a photo from October, 2009. Gibbs is leaving the White House this month and will become an outside adviser to the administration – Carney will replace him in the role of Press Secretary.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, in his final week on the job, is beginning to share some of his thoughts on what it means to speak for the president of the United States.

Asked what advice he has given his successor, Vice President Biden’s communication director Jay Carney, Gibbs told reporters that he shared what his predecessors told him: “First and foremost, regardless of what you know and what you’re asked, your solemn obligation is to always tell the truth.”

Gibbs took his final official flight on Air Force One on Thursday.

I’ll love this guy forever for taking on the “Professional Left” 😉

I love Robert Gibbs. I will miss him, but I’m glad he still will be working in some important capacity with our President. He is one person who has had this President’s back and has worked tirelessly as press secretary. That’s why Haggiana & Co. can’t stand him. They can’t stand anyone with integrity because they themselves are sorely lacking in it.

I love him too……I think looking at President Obama and his inside circle, the mutual support and loyalty demonstrated, it is clear that these relationships are deep and highly valued.

I always think of Gibbs as the Soccer Goalie. Always protecting the goal, never letting the others score on the President.

He, he love it. Can’t you just see him in his goalie gear.

Gibbs is to the president as Gayle king is to Oprah. Don’t hold your breath for a tell all dirt book about the president from Gibbs. He will always be a true loyalist to the president. Love and will miss him.

I will miss Gibbs – he deserves a medal for dealing with the media for two solid years with no ability to tell them what we all wished he was able to say. I think the President is really going to miss him a lot. I am looking forward to the new guy, too. Should be interesting to see how this new relationship works. I think Gibbs will be even better on the outside, because he’s going to be where the President needs him to be for the next two years. They’re just spreading out.

I will miss Robert Gibbs! Gibbs is one of the few in this administration who really has the President’s back. God bless him as he embarks upon this next phase.

I love and will miss Robert, too. I loved his disdain for the incompetent media. They deserved his scorn and disdain. And so did the PL. I was so happy he called them out. They will never live their horrible reputation down.

Now he’s off to work in PBO’s election– unfettered by anything. If you didn’t catch Axelrod on Morning Joke this morning try to get to watch the clip. Axe was masterful when Joke and his crew tried to get him to say PBO had changed and moved to the center since November. Axe shot them down big time demonstrating PBO is who he always was and is doing what he said he would do during the campaign. He said anyone who thinks differently, wasn’t listening.

I don’t live there now but I was born and raised in Chicago and lived most of my life there. I love that our brilliant president hails from there, too.

If for nothing else I’m grateful to Gibbs for shining THE spotlight on the Professional Left. He didn’t even have to name names and the guilty exposed themselves.

So true. They all came out of the woodwork, so offended, even though some of them weren’t the ones he was talking about. Clearly, they share the same brain.
