She was perfect – on both shows.

They don’t call me “Mrs. Obama” for nothing! A few days ago, I commented here that President Obama is one of the most consistent people I’ve ever seen. This morning his real wife said the same thing. He truly is steady and settled in himself, his views, and his vision for this country and the world.

Michelle is just awesome. She’s tall, gorgeous and graceful. Practical, firm yet gentle, down-to-earth, open, warm, caring… My goodness, God did some of his best work with those two young people.

We’re so lucky to have them lead us at this time. So lucky.

Hey Hachikō, I haven’t seen the Regis & Kelly interview yet, looking forward to it. She is just SO impressive, on every level, adore the woman!

Hachiko, I love that you said his “real wife”. Are you insinuating that you’re his fake wife? LOL!, JK, but I wouldn’t be mad at you if you were. I need a man like him, fake or real, but preferably real 😉

Anyway, Mrs. O was great on both shows today! She is truly the BEST!!

It’s funny, I follow POTUS on twitter and Facebook and sign up for texts alerts from both platforms. When I get a text, my phone makes a funny sound, and people will ask me, “What’s that?” and I’ll say, “Oh, that’s just Barack texting me.” And I always show them the texts to prove it! LOL.

Today has been a great video day. Loved the First Lady on the Today Show, she is so real and handles the questions with such grace and style. I am looking forward to Regis and Kelly’s video when someone puts it online.

I really need to get out of my pj.

      February 9, 2011 at 11:17 am

You’re not the only one who is still in her pjs trying to get all of the news about our president and first lady! I’m in the same state of (un)dress as you are, and I’m doing the same thing–getting the news about them! LOL

      • 11 Dorothy Rissman
        February 9, 2011 at 1:59 pm

Majii, I just signed in myself. I heard that Matt Lamebrain asked her if it was true that he had quite smoking?
Suggesting that she was lying for him.

And he wanted to know if PBO is dying his hair. What in the …. kind of questions are those?

        • 12 geegee
          February 9, 2011 at 3:33 pm

Dorothy, I, too, resented those two questions. What is this obsession these media types have with whether PBO smokes or not; and now whether he dyes his hair. I sensed that the First Lady was very uncomfortable with that questions–moreso than with the smoking question. How dare Matt ask such a personal question. Aghhh. the dumb butt media!!!!

    • February 9, 2011 at 11:32 am

I’m guessing these are your PJs:

Muchas gracias, Donna & Chipsticks! I love Mrs. Obama’s description of WHO/what the role of presidency needs and her description of the POTUS. There is no-one else out there buzzing around the presidency for 2012who remotely fits this description! If only they would be realistic about their personality and skills – or if only their spouse would be realistic for them.;)

I caught her, Mrs. Obama on the Today Show and Regis and Kelly, and she was wonderful as always. I am so dog gone proud of our First Lady. I know the President was watching and I know he was so proud also. I don’t mind telling anyone that I am a fan of Mrs. Obama.

Hay the President have quit smoking. A big fat congratulation to him. Let’s keep him in our prayers. It ain’t easy. I have loved ones who tried and tried and tried. Some were successful, some were not.

Can’t wait to see the whole Regis and Kelly interview! She’s a great guest and has a wonderful sense of humor. And I love how she always stresses the humanity of this President, her husband. For those in the country who don’t follow him as a person as closely as we do, her words are sooooo effective in shaping his dad/husband persona for the country. I just love it.

And you can tell Regis and Kelly are big supporters of POTUS.

Omg Matt Lauer you are so full of fail. In a 13 minute interview to celebrate Let’s Move he talks about it for 3 minutes! He starts off the interview with a policy question about Egypt!!!! WTF! And his last question is about a 9 year-old and a 12 year-old having Facebook? Why would Sasha have FB she’s in the 4th grade. Don’t get me started on the hair dye question. So dumb. People get real stupid when they talk to or about the Obamas.

    • 28 Audrey
      February 9, 2011 at 1:45 pm

This idiocy is what passes for journalism in the United States today! Their stupidity and rabidness becomes more heightened and is on full display whenever they get to interview President Obama or Mrs Obama.
The Matt Lauer who gets to let George Bush off easy has the nerve to grill Michelle Obama. Oy vey!

    • 29 Ladyhawke
      February 9, 2011 at 2:56 pm

Jessica, we are so on the same page about Matt Lauer and his questions. I was yelling at the tv screen when he started off with the Egypt question. Followed by the inane questions about President Obama stopping smoking, whether or not he dyes his hair, and about her menu at the super bowl not being heart healthy like her Let’s Move initiative. And finally he had to ask about Bill O’Reilly and his “why do people hate you” nonsense. I just could not believe it. She was absolutely great in her responses. Nothing but grace and class.

Oh, before I forget, I loved it when Matt was obsessing about how living in the White House impacts the girls. The First Lady ticked of the Bush daughters, Chelsea Clinton and Caroline Kennedy. They turned out just fine. Why wouldn’t Sasha and Malia be any different? Beautiful response. It just shows the stupidity of Matt’s questions again.

First attempt to listen to this I lasted through the first question. I don’t care for Matt Lauer and think he is insidiously disrespectful.
I decided I shouldn’t comment unless I listened to the whole interview….FLOTUS was awesome, although she had to endure some pretty inane questions. Bottom line for me is I just don’t value the work of our MSM, nor do I trust them to be unbiased and objective.

I am so glad she answer the question about what we are to eat and not eat. Some people, and we all know who, are trying to say that she is telling people what to eat, that she is getting in parents business. But that is not how it is at all. It’s about education. It’s about trying to get our kids to move, exercise, not eat hamburger and french fries and then sit in front of the tv the rest of the day. As she said it is okay to have a burger, or fries, or piece of cake, or pie, but don’t eat the whole cake, or pie, don’t eat burgers everyday, eat fruits and vegtables, drink water, instead of sodas. The haters are trying to get on her case about this, but I am supporting her 100%. As I said I am so proud of our wonderful First Lady.

JESSICA……I think Matt was hoping she would say something so they could make a big story out of it. But Mrs. Obama answer the question about Egypt just right. She stayed out of it. I agree they could have talked about Let’s Move more. Maybe Meridith should have talk to Mrs. Obama instead of Matt.

    • 35 Fred
      February 9, 2011 at 2:23 pm

maybe Matt was hoping Mrs Obama would have a deer in the headlight look on her face when he asked her about Egypt a la SP (when Kouric asked her what magazine she read 😉 😆 ) but as expected she answered brilliantly 😀

what responsible parent would let 2 tweens have their own facebook page? 😡 President and Mrs O are no S and T Palin 😀

    February 9, 2011 at 1:02 pm

Yep…all she is doing is trying to educate some people about a BALANCED stlye of eating/and exercising.
I tell you the critics will continue to take swipes at her for this great program (lets move)….Anyway, she did a fabulous job on both shows this morning – Go Michelle

    • 38 Audrey
      February 9, 2011 at 2:02 pm

They will take swipes at EVERYTHING the Obamas do. Even if they found a cure for cancer and paid for every patient to have access to it, healed the sick and fixed everything that ailed the world, they would still be criticized.

Does anyone know if Regis is a democrat because he was really good and complementary to PBO throughout the interview. And Kelly is a sweet heart. Michelle is not a pushover, stand in my husbands shadow kind of a girl, she is fierce. Eat your heart out wasilla lady.

I know that Kelly’s dad was a NJ congressman or something like that a few years back as a Democrat.Might be a good idea to wikipedia her 😉 😆

as for Regis I really don’t know

The short segment that I saw with Regis and Kelly was relaxed and fun. I am looking forward to seeing the entire interview.

Matt Lauer on the other hand…. It seemed more like a debate (with gotcha questions) between him and the First Lady. I was so disgusted with him. So typical. Meanwhile, the whole purpose of the interview was to talk about HER AND HER INITIATIVE ‘LETS MOVE’. As someone else has already posted, Matt was trying to get some sound bite that could be played 24X7 on NBC. I absolutely loathe the media in this country.

I actually didn’t mind the dying of the hair question. I loved how the First Lady handled it. Questions like that humanizes them. It’s like, nahh he’s a normal guy. He’s not really big on appearance. I like that about him.

Great interviews. Especially enjoyed her on Regis and Kelly. They did a really great job on their interview of Mrs. O. Great questions and they were just so happy to have her on the show. It was very cute.

Matt behaved as if he was interviewing the President or one of the cabinets members.

Poise, grace, intelligence, wit. First Lady Michelle Obama is really the perfect compliment to her fabulous husband. She makes him look good! Well done marrying this wonderful woman, Mr. President! Well done!

While Michelle was describing the traits of someone who COULD NOT handle the job, I immediately thought of Sarah Palin – thin skin and John McCain – emotionally all over the place.
