PBO may be laughing as he shares this bit of information, but I do believe he means every word he says about Malia’s first dance. It’s great seeing that our president has the same concerns for his kids as so many other Americans have for theirs. I remember being just as worried about my daughter when she went to her first prom.

in addition for the prayer for patience, I have also found the prayer for the skirt to “grow longer” as she travels to the dance to be very funny and yet genuine. I have never heard such an earnest yet creative prayer of a parent pleading for the clothes his/her child to undergo some kind of metamophosis during a date and before the kid’s & dates’ very eyes.
in the past President Obama has commented that he is lucky that when the young man shows up to take his daughter out, there will be members of the Secret Service – I am in the President’s corner on this
