truly, these people are something else

KVOA: Those wishing to oust Sheriff Clarence Dupnik are taking action this afternoon. The Pima County Tea Party Patriots have organized a “Dump Dupnik Rally” at the Sheriff’s Office, claiming Dupnik is no longer fit to be sheriff after controversial statements he made surrounding the Tucson shootings.

Meanwhile, Dupnik supporters have also planned a rally at the Sheriff’s Office today. “People tend to poo poo this business about all the vitriol that we hear inflaming the American public by people who make a living off of doing that. That may be free speech, but it’s not without consequences,” Dupnik said during a news conference hours after the shootings at a Tucson Safeway on January 8th.

Tucson resident Mary Cuevas agrees with the Sheriff’s words. “I feel that he was coming straight from the heart and that it needed to be heard and that it was the perfect time actually for him to start this debate,” Cuevas said.

Cuevas says she is planning to come support Sheriff Dupnik peacefully and silently. “When I heard that the Tea Partiers were going to protest against Dupnik, and try to have him resign, I’m just against it,” Cuevas said.

Tea Partiers are always screaming about the the right of Free Speach, yet are selective as to who that applies to. HYPOCRITES.
Additionally, and equally important they fail to demonstrate any of the responsiblities that right requires of us as individuals.

I’ll send an e-mail to the Pima County Sheriffs Department, any better ideas of how to demonstrate support?

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING! WELL THE TEA PARTIERS WON’T GET ANYWHERE WITH THAT ONE BECAUSE OF THE RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH! SHERIFF DUPNIK SAID WHAT WAS NECESSARY. IF THE ACTIONS OF THE CRITICS IN ARIZONA REGARDING THE IMMIGRATION LAW ARE ANY EXAMPLE…THE PLACE IS A HOTBED FOR TEMPERS. FRANKLY…THE SHERIFF’S WORDS NEED TO BE SPOKEN IN SEVERAL OTHER STATES…I’D LOVE TO PUT INDIANA IN HIS CLASSROOM! GOD BLESS HIM! IF HE NEEDS A SCREAMER…HE CAN CALL ME!

Sue in Minnesota, you said it exactly right! What keeps the pundits from placing those two words together–“rights–responsibilities?” Integrity. The “right” to use the airwaves should have “responsibility to the facts” as an integral part of access. They are all quite willing to juxtapose those terms when talking about the poor, the Black, Acorn, the authentic Left. Heard it all the time during the 60’s about demonstrators, sit-ins, welfare-to-work, etc.
