GOD LOVE HER GREAT BIG ‘OBAMA’ HEART…SHE’S AWESOME AND SHE’S DOING ALOT FOR OUR MILITARY FAMILIES WHO SHOULD BE A NUMBER #1 PRIORITY IN THIS COUNTRY. HER ‘LET’S MOVE’ CAMPAIGN FIGHTING CHILDHOOD OBESITY HAS REALLY TAKEN OFF. PARENTS ARE PAYING ATTENTION TO THEIR CHILDREN’S DIETS AND DUE TO HER EFFORTS SCHOOL CAFETERIAS ARE IN LINE FOR CARB-RENOVATION. SHE HAS ALSO REJUVINATED THE POPULARITY OF HOME GARDENS AND INNER-CITY EFFORTS TO BRING HEALTHY GARDENS TO BAREN,UNUSED LAND. THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO THRIVE ON FOODS SOLD AT GAS STATIONS. WE HAVE YOUNG ADULTS RUNNING AROUND WITH NO TEETH AND THEIR BONE STRUCTURE IS EVEN WORSE! BEFORE WE MOVE OUR AVERAGE LIFE EXPECTANCY TO AGE 20…LET’S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! SHE IS!!!!!! I JUST LOVE HER…SO DOES THE PRESIDENT…BUT, SHE’S ‘PERTIER’ THAN HE IS!…:)

you know they’ll try anything to get ratings for a few days and have another opportunity to have someone bash the President and Mrs Obama as often as possible so she answered Robin brilliantly imho 😀

But Robin didn’t ask her what she thought of Palin bringing in cookies to a Pa school and her comments on Mrs Obama’s Let’s Move project :p

Robin has tried but she has always made sure to thread lightly;after all she is a “sister” too 😉

I’ll take Robin over Barbara Walters any damn day, but I refuse to watch ABC after Barbara Walters December interview with the President and FLOTUS. I wrote them, expressed my objections, and told them their channel was now officially blocked, joining Fox, from viewing in our household. GMC has repeatedly given the Palin’s coverage, and Walters seems to be Palins number one public defender…..that is more than enough reason for me never to give them my viewership, and to especially challenge their credibility as a news outlet. One good thing that Palin has done, is to raise my awareness of the failings of our news media…..Hocus, Pocus, Smokus…..contrived and controversy driven.

Hmmm…I know since she began “Let’s Move” I have thought about some of my nephews who are very overweight.
So now when they come over to visit, I make sure they do something active. It really is important to get these kids in particular moving around their future depends on it. I am so very glad she pushing this program as much as she can.
    I. Love. Her.

Our First Lady is so right in picking this as one of her initiatives. I worked in Endocrinology at a Teaching Hospital and we know that 1 out of 3 children are overweight. It’s sad that they are developing diabetes so young in life because it will shorten their lifespan. About ten years ago, I attended a conference on Type 2 Diahetes in children. The essence of the conference was “What do we know about Diabetes in Children?” and the answer was “nothing, it is new.” “We are performing research on it now”. There weren’t any drugs approved for children to treat Type 2 and insulin would just increase their weight. The consensus today is that it is obesity. Too much video time…….TV, Computer,Video games. etc. There is also the problem with neighborhoods. Some neighorhoods aren’t safe for children to exericise and run around. so I would give alternate activities such as, if you are watching TV, stand up and dance during the commmercals, walk up and down steps. Do arm exercises with cans. Sorry didn’t mean to get into my career because the recommendations would take up a book and does. I am so proud of our First Lady for addressing an extremely important problem.

Sue and Barb, you both write very informatively. Thank you. And thank you for the video, Chipsticks. This is the first stop on my daily blog roll, and sometimes I’m here more than once throughout the day–because you work so hard;-)
