snowed under

President Barack Obama walks down the stairs of Air Force One in the snow at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., Jan. 26

The motorcade of President Obama is stuck in traffic during a snow storm in Washington, January 26. Obama’s motorcade was forced to negotiate multiple traffic accidents and heavy snow from Andrews Air Force Base back to the White House as a snow storm hit Washington and forced Marine One to be grounded.

According to Mark Knoller, it  took the presidential motorcade over an hour to drive from Andrews back to the White House, compared to the 24 minutes the reverse trip took this morning. 😦

We (here in L.A.) were having a bit of an actual winter before Christmas, but it’s 76 here in Burbank right now. I’m almost a little jealous of the snow.

Don’t be rubbing it in, tally! I’m down here in GA, and it’s COLD! When my daughter and I went out last night, we were getting some snow flurries. We had snow in Central GA less than 2 weeks ago that stayed on the ground for 2 days. We were fortunate because in North GA the snow hampered traffic and kept the kids home from school for 4-5 days in some places. Many of the parents were going nuts having their kids underfoot for that period of time because we usually don’t get any snow in GA. Enjoy the sunshine, young lady!

        Yes M’am! I’m sorry! /grovel grovel grovel

I was born here, grew up here, (worked at Disneyland with The Other Kelly for a million years – we both escaped), and I lived in New England for five minutes – I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE THIS PLACE FOR GRANTED EVER AS LONG AS I LIVE.

Everyone is invited out for margaritas & mimosas on a patio!!!

        🙂 🙂 🙂

I am smack dab in the middle of the country and have all four seasons. The kids missed school part of last week and all of our yards are still covered with snow and about 4 feet on each side of the driveway but the streets are clear. They are calling for more snow next week. I must say I love all of our seasons.

Loved the pictures of the snow in DC with President Obama but wouldn’t want to be on that highway because I would be driving and not sitting in the back seat. lol He was probably thumping away on his blackberry or whatever device he is using now. Thanks for the pics Chipsticks……you are the best.

D.C. was once one of my accounts and that route was a mess when it didn’t snow. One hour is really good time if you are not the President who has the right of way and police escort.

This snow is no joke, schools were closed today and it is still snowing. Ice is covering the water in the harbor and no ships are moving. Really quiet but pretty.

That’s right and people all over the area have been stuck in their cars for hours. I am glad the President made it back to the WH safely. That is not a long trip on most days (20-30 mins) so 1 hour or more when all traffic stops for you anyway is really a big deal!

Sorry about the snow guys. Let me send some sunshine your way from the sunny island of Trinidad. 🙂
