ow!

President Barack Obama holds an autographed Charles Woodson Green Bay Packers NFL football jersey given to him by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker after he arrives aboard Air Force One at Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Woodson wrote, “See you at the White House. Go Packers” on the jersey anticipating the Packers would visit the White House as Super Bowl Champions.

“They’re rubbing it in,” said the Bears fan-in-chief.

I think it’s awesome – and all in good fun.

That said, can we talk about REAL FUTBOL?? No seriously. Hot men (Zidane, Forlán, Beckham when he isn’t pissed off and doesn’t speak and has Armani undies on) running for 90 minutes with no commercials. Hello. World’s biggest sport.

And all of Europe is whining because FIFA is contemplating changing WC 2022 to the WINTER because it’s 140 degrees in the summer in Qatar. The whining is because it will interrupt their regular season JUST LIKE IT DOES FOR THE MLS NOW.

The EPL can cry me a frakkin river.

Oh and Sunil Gulati and Bob Bradley should be FIRED.

ok – back to US football. Whatever. I don’t care because the Saints lost (which was my only reason to care last year.) Seriously, I was a cheerleader too – but they’ve taken a ONE HOUR GAME, and turned it into FOUR HOURS OF RIDICULOUSNESS. And that’s time I’ll never get back.

    🙂

Whooooo, hoooo – I’ve found me a (real) football fan!! 🙂 About Qatar…. whatever about switching the WC to winter, I just can’t believe a place that wouldn’t know human rights from peanut butter was awarded the WC 😦 Well, I can believe it – this is Fifa after all, their corruption knows no bounds. PS Glory Glory Man United!!!!

That was my first kicked in the VAG reaction too. Then I saw this from my World Cup Boyfriend #1:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JffBQkBOZZk (yes, I LOVE HIM AND WANT HIM, so I’m a bit biased. However, if anything can make a difference to a culture, this might be it.)

Footie fan – HELL YES. 7 year season tickets for the LA Galaxy – and LA RIOT SQUAD MEMBER (we broke Beckham – who I’d gladly trade his old broken ass for WCBF#2 Diego Forlán. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes please.)

Love that the Vancouver Whitecaps are coming into the league this year, and I have an excuse to go see my friends in West & North Van.

    OH LANDON DONOVAN!

There’s only one Edson Buddle! One Edson Buuuuuudlleeee, there’s only one Edson Buddle.

Have you seen The Damned United and the first two GOAL! movies?

Chuckle, love Zidane too …. although I was SO disappointed he took Qatar money to promote their bid. He’s actually suing a French comedian now for calling him a – gulp – “prostitute” for working for them.

Have to admit, I’m very ignorant about US football, European football (mainly English) is my sporting obsession, need to broaden my horizons!
