Hi. No, not a complaint as such – it’s just that my top-secret briefing notes from State have Bush’s scrawl marks all over them. Every time it says “Hu Jintao” he’s crossed it out and written “Huge in Tahoe”. It’s kind of distracting. Can I get a clean copy, please? I don’t want some photographer with a long lens catching me with this in my hand. B
To: George W. Bush <george@georgewbushlibrary.org> Subject: Re: if you get confused, just remember it’s pronounced “huge in Tahoe”
Thanks for that, I’ll bear it in mind. You know he left yesterday, don’t you? BHO.
To: Glenn Beck <glenn@glenn.beck.com> Subject: Re: thank you for finally becoming president, sir
Hey, Glenn, no problem. And thank you for taking a break from being a frothing rightwing nutcase. I guess it’s at times like these that it pays for us all to heed what Lincoln called “the better angels of our nature”. We both have our beliefs, and our separate jobs to do, and we should respect that. So I’ll try to stop thinking of you as an intemperate, paranoid buffoon as long as you’ll stop trying to portray me as the evil leader of a progressive international conspiracy hellbent on enslaving Americans. If you read out this email on the air, btw, I will have you vaporised, and your entire existence erased from human memory. If you don’t think I can do that, just go ahead and test me. Warmly, Barack.

Thanks for the smile, we all need a little lol.
Huge in Tahoe………that is so funny. I went to the Guardian and read all of the e-mails there. I just love this kind of humor.
You know, Murdoch’s News Corp is trying to buy Sky News in Brition as if he doesn’t have enough monopolies already. There are some angry Brits who are complaining that they don’t want a Fox News and Glen Beck on their screens. This is coming from the Parliment. They seem to be smarter than we were when he was taking over our media. news papers, etc.
If only our newspapers were as outspoken as they are in Britian. Oh, that’s right, our newspapers have already been sold out to the Murdochs.
Hiya Barb, unfortunately Murdoch already owns that pile of junk, Sky News. All the controversy at the moment is about his NewsCorp ’empire’ trying to taking full ownership of Sky News’ parent company BSkyB – although I find the whole thing waaaaaay too complicated to understand. He also owns The Times and The Sun, so the size of his slice of the British media is truly scary.
Sky News isn’t quite as bad as Fox – could anything be that awful? – but it’s still a bunch of crap, largely right wing and Conservative Party-supporting. They’re getting more like Fox, though, and often use Fox people for their reports on American politics and economics. Depressing.
Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair’s former media man, has always accused Sky of being ridiculously pro-Conservative and anti the Labour Party, especially their chief political reporter Adam Boulton. Have a look at this hilarious exchange from last year between the two, Boulton completely loses the plot when Campbell calls him out for his Conservative support. I have my problems with Campbell, but I loved him that day! He’s on the right in the video, but on the middle-left politically 😉 It starts getting really lively from around 4:25.
You’ve been posting some funny stuff from The Guardian. To bad they’re a piece of rag.
Why do you say that Hachikō? The Guardian sometimes drives me nuts, eg with their Wikileaks obsession, but it’s generally top quality, the rags are the rubbish tabloids like The Sun.
Ouch Hachikō, the Guardian is not a rag, we leave that description for the red tops (sun, mirror etc) and the daily mail would be classed as such.
Unfortunately, News Corp/Murdoch wields so much power in the UK media that they sometimes swing elections(e.g. whoever the sun supports usually wins), shame but true. The way things are going, he won’t be allowed to own 100% of SKY.
yikes 😮
that’s the only thing I can come up with 😆
