nice company you keep, arianna

PlanetPOV: Arianna Huffington “partying the night away” with Darrell Issa in Las Vegas (the day of the Tucson shootings)

Read the full piece here

Issa is the Republican who called President Obama’s administration “one of the most corrupt ever” … but has an interesting past of his own (read here – there’s also a lengthy New Yorker profile of Issa here)

Thank you Chi 😉

    Yea, “true progressive”. Disgusting.

Hey, Chip, sine you have a magic way of embedding videos from anywhere in the net – here’s something you may want to upload.

I once posted a comment on DailyKos, that Ms. Huff and puff was a media whore,
(basically for going on anyones TV show). Now it looks as if she’s just a
power whore, looks like she will go where she thinks the power lays.
This story needs to get out!!!

      It gets worse…

The Huffington Post and BET co-founder Sheila Johnson are launching a HuffPost section devoted to African-Americans…

Arianna Huffington’s cynicism and underhandedness is simply mind-blowing…

She has absolutely no interest in the black community and only seeks to yet again exploit and manipulate and for only one reason…

She seeks through this dubious collaboration with a couple of “high-profile” blacks plagued with President Obama-envy, to reach, misinform and spread discontent through, the large group of black Americans that support President Obama….

She has tried to do this with the other solid support base of the President’s – white liberals; Having largely been unsuccessful but getting a bit of attention from a raucous few masquerading as “the disenchanted base”, she is now trying to infiltrate this other group that supports the President in high numbers to chip away at that support which she and those about her are intent upon decimating…

Arianna Huffington is slime and pure evil, but she’ll find in time, that Karma’s a bitch…

      • January 22, 2011 at 12:37 pm

Hey Chi, thank you again for the link. She’s a power/fame-hungry mercenary and fraud, pure and simple. I wouldn’t judge any one by who they are photographed with – heck, the President has had to pose with some vile types, eg Boehner – but added to all the other evidence of her deceit…..she makes my skin crawl.

          Hey Chip-

I was actually pretty disturbed by the pattern…

For a person so unforgiving of any perceived flaw in President Obama, she seems rather quick to embrace some rather questionable people…

Even more ironic, the very same people she gets mad at the President for trying to work with – which by the way, his job requires he works with them if he is to move this country forward…

          • January 22, 2011 at 1:18 pm

You’re right Chi, it is actually really disturbing – we could laugh her off if it wasn’t for the fact that she is constantly chosen by the MSM when they want a ‘liberal’ voice for their discussions, despite the fact that she as much sincere commitment to liberal causes as Sarah friggin’ Palin. But she’s a media darling, she’s mastered that, they can’t get enough of her. And you’re so right, she spews bile all over the President for trying to make progress by working with…. the very people she ‘hangs out’ with. She is vile.

Don’t forget the picture of her with Newt Gingrich and Barbara Walters, vacationing together in the South of France. A picture really can be worth a thousand words, and when combined with the rest of the evidence (including the fact that she was a Republican, and instrumental in ousting Gray Davis in California to be replaced with Arnold Schwarzenegger) – it convinces me that she’s a snake of the lowest order. Her constant and vicious attacks on Sec. Geithner were also too much.

I heard about this crap too. It’s not going to work, the black community is no big fan of Johnson either.
Also I think blacks have stayed pretty informed as to what been happening to Obama and who is doing it.
Blacks will not turn from Obama, sure some are upset that things are getting better for blacks, but they
will vote for him and I suspect that there will be even more blacks voting this year to keep Obama in office.

        • January 22, 2011 at 1:27 pm

I became sick to my stomach when I heard about this yesterday. The Johnsons (she and her crazy ex husband who fired and divorce her at the same time) are nothing but opportunists. They do nothing but make money off the AA community. It is definitely time to speak out against these two instead of admiring the fact they made billions off a poor community and still do nothing for it. Arianna is a snake if I ever saw one. We have got to get busy. I was hoping the AA press came alive in the age of Obama but it’s seem to still be dragging along.

I too think Ms Johnson( let’s not forget she supported the Republican in Virginia; yes the Republican who is now promoting segration practices. I guess that worked out well for her)and Mrs Huffington will fail at their attempt to destroy President Obama; and yes that’s what I believe is their plan. They will disguise it as fair press but trust it will not be.

          January 22, 2011 at 3:08 pm

I agree about blacks staying informed – I’m actually surprised at how informed some folks are. People you’d think too busy to know what’s going on around them are paying attention and they know and are disgusted by the smearing and the hypocrisy aimed at this president.

          • January 22, 2011 at 5:24 pm

You guys are exactly right. Yeah, when BET starts promoting things other than women with no clothes dancing on strip poles..they can give me a call. BET has done more to damage the African American Community than any person/entity could ever do. They are like the dope dealers on the streets. All they have to give you is a taste, and you are hooked (or should I say destroyed) for life. Spike Lee called them a few years back on their coonery, and Mrs. Johnson replied that BET only gives its audience what it wants. Yea, the dope dealers always say that….

There does seem to be a power structure which have been working to undermine Obama from the beginning days of his campaign, and it continues today. I have often wondered about that being the real purpose of a site like Huff Post, and others—– advertise yourself as liberal, despite your background, and try to slyly destroy from within. News of the new Black Appeal rang bells with me too. I watched as many in the media tried to make Obama the black candidate, appealing to African Americans only. When he won the caucus in mostly white Iowa, they were shocked and went into high gear, still trying to make their case, pointing out on their maps where Obama would win because of a dense AA population and where he had no chance in mostly white areas, not so subtly trying to make white voters feel like oddballs if they supported Obama. And I have seen the effort to chip away at his support in the AA community by rounding any AA Repub they can find or any other AA personality who has Obama envy, as you say, and give them air time to criticize Obama. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on. And pretty sickening.
And I have never believed in the sincerity of one word Arianna has ever uttered. I have always felt she has no core liberal beliefs. So many of her big banner headlines are anti-Obama or his administration. And she’s so self-absorbed and seems to just be about power, greed and money, very Republican values by the way.

I heard she may try and do the same with the Latino population. They want to “separate the herd” and then pounce on the ill-informed and unsuspecting to get them to believe lies about President Obama as we head into 2012.

Chi, you said it so well. Frankly I think Arianna is worse than that idiot Issa. She is a traitor who will work with anyone to bring down our President. I think evil is a perfect word for Haggiana. That is what someone on W.E.E calls her. It is a perfect name for her.

I think this photo should go viral in the left blogosphere. I’m usually careful about culpability by association, but not in this case. Arianna has been over-the-top in her criticism of President Obama in the last two years. And the HP’s headlines are often misleading. And I don’t get her vendetta over Tim Geitner. I’ve grown very suspicious of her to tell you the truth.

I can understand she has a few friendships from her days as an official republican, but Newt Gingrich and Darrel Issa, some of the most dirty republicans there are ??? And not meeting them, but PARTYING with them ? Give me a break….

And to think, I used to (and still do) waste time posting on this liar’s blog.

I REALLY grew to despise Arianna when she called for Vice President Biden to resign, all because he disagreed with President Obama over Afghanistan strategy (I think that’s what it was).

I’m just surprised that Arianna hasn’t called for the same investigations Issa has to prove Obama is the most corrupt President in history.

    January 22, 2011 at 2:38 pm

Explains why Barbara Walters was crying tears for Sarah when she got slammed for her violent rhetoric. As for Arianna and the Johnson woman trying to separate the AA community from President Obama, it will NEVER happen. Do they think AAs are just stupid? Do they think we cannot see with our own eyes, read and process what they have been doing and trying to do to this President? We see and we know and we stand behind President Obama 1000 percent. Arianna and Johnson (who got played by McDonnell so he could win in VA) can suck eggs.

    • January 22, 2011 at 2:50 pm

Thank you and Amen! I found Walter’s sympathy for Palin self created problem just too weird. She went over the top with it in my opinion and now I know exactly why. How can you be objective when you are socializing with the people you are reporting on. It all make perfect sense now. Ms. Johnson and her ex hubby are just envious people who capitalize on the AA community. It is time for a wake up call.

“A faceless mass, waiting for handouts.”
Ronald Reagan, 1965. (Reagan describing Medicaid recipients.)

“Unemployment insurance is a pre-paid vacation for freeloaders.”
California Governor Ronald Reagan, in the Sacramento Bee, April 28, 1966

“I would have voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.”

Three days in a row Walters expressed sympathy and support for Palin. Then on the 4th day, she tried to debunk Ron Reagan Jr.’s contention in his new book that his dad was exhibiting signs of Alzheimers while in office. She said she interviewed him many times and saw no signs of it, making the case that she knew him better than his son. I found that just unbelievable. And then the next day there was an exerpt from Leslie Stahl’s (60 Minutes) book where she told about seeing him completely out of it when she tried to interview him, with milky eyes and utter confusion. And she said she felt that she would have to report to the public that their president was bonkers. Then she said he perked up when he learned that her husband was a screenwriter, and started talking to him about the movie biz. And, probably with pressure from all sides, she let it go. Ron Jr. has said his dad lived in sort of a movie world, that he became a character he created, a myth. And it was obvious for all who were paying attention, and was noted by other writers at the time, that Pres. Reagan was lost and confused much of the final years of his presidency. He was always just reciting clever little quips that seemed as if they had been fed to him before appearances, and Nancy was always whispering answers to reporters’ questions in his ears. I thought that was really ghastly of Walters—to say she knew better about Reagan than his own son who lived with him. And Ron Jr. said Nancy hss given her blessing to his book, thereby confirming his revelations.

Thank you for your picture/article. You have confirmed my suspicions. Whenever I attempted to post a comment on the Huffington Post that was less-than complimentary to Arianna, my comment was scrubbed. Of late, I note that, for the most part, only comments that seem to reflect kudos regarding the article make it pass the moderators. Your article totally explains what is going on. I will work even harder for President Obama’s re-election.

I found Huff and Puff in the last months of the election and thought that it was a positive, liberal site in support of PBO. I was surprised that it came from Arianna because I had only known here as a big time repub. Soon after the election I started noticing the negative tone and then outright enemity from Arianna toward the adminstration. I could not get where this was coming from and what she wanted. I stopped reading and visit the site only for entertainment gossip. She takes herself too seriously; thinks she is more important than she is. A media person is not supposed to be the story! She is beginning to remind me of that devil’s brood, Anne Coulter.

This picture shows us all where her true loyalty lies. BW lost my respect with The View (from hell) and her tasteless tell-all book. Then to spend days defending Palin? Time for her to retire and go home before she completely ruins her reputation.

    • 55 Theo67
      January 23, 2011 at 2:28 pm

I agree – I hope the Obamas don’t invite her back for a Christmas special this year. She was really quite rude this last year, and I could not believe she asked the President about Sarah Palin, and challenged him on why he couldn’t declare that he would defeat Palin. I was so happy that he answered “what I’m saying is that I don’t think about Sarah Palin”. Barbara Walters needs to retire – it now makes sense why Hasselback still has a voice on that show after the insults she’s thrown at Mrs. Obama, and the fights she’s had with her co-hosts.

I hope this won’t get me banned but Issa is FUCKING CRAZY.

    He truly is unhinged.

Not only is he unhinged, but the man should be in a jail somewhere. Not because he’s a Republican, but because he has participated in CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR TIME AFTER TIME.

did anyone read the recent New Yorker profile on this man.

and, that’s not the ONLY illegal thing that he’s done.

    he’s a CRIMINAL.

straight up, no chaser. not the white collar kind that we’re used to with the GOP, but a straight up, thug on the street behavior CRIMINAL.

I’m not shocked in the least by the picture.

Fortunately, a lot of us have distanced ourselves from Huffington Post and continue to spread the word. I have not linked to an article on Huff Post for a year now and will not. Discussions like these here are key to stopping this divide and conquer strategy they have.

  24. January 25, 2011 at 3:45 pm

Yesterday we was switching channels and watched a little of the View, when Barara Walter was defending her friend who Criticized Michelle Dress, which was Beautiful and so is First Lady,Barabra whining about First Lady should have worn a dress made by America, Michelle always wear Clothes made by Americans, so Barbara Walter lied, it’s Michelle Choice to wear what she like, they say they more you see a person the more of the real person come out. She anger us when she was Pandering for Palin, with the President, but he can give punches and don’t even know you been punched, We loved it with his counter punch about Palin, and Michelle came back with a Punch about her Arms and her dress she had on, quote: Michelle my husband love my dress, he helped me picked it out, that was really a good one, firt place Barbara was out of place, the Problem is they can’t stand to see this Beautiful Black Family in the WH., they say if you live long enough the slugs will come out sooner or later.

Yesterday we read a Comment that said only a White President should be in the WH., it’s not for Black, Hispanic,Asia or yellow skin people, this is what the whole Scenario and Hate Rhetoric is all about. What we see is Ignorance and Stupidity is the worse Enemy.
