ABC: After the pool spray with President Hu Jintao in the Oval Office, a cameraman asked President Obama “If the Bears win, are you going to the Super Bowl?”
“Oh we’re going,” responded the President, “no doubt.”
On Sunday, the Chicago Bears will play the Green Bay Packers at Chicago’s Soldier Field for the NFC Championship.
As a freshman senator in December 2006, with the political world wondering about his plans for 2008, Mr. Obama appeared in a mock-commercial during Monday Night Football:
Thank you Brezzydee! 😉
Chipsticks –
Love your site. Love President Obama! I have a family member that has been on Obama’s finance committee for many years. And, might I add for all of you that may not have had the opportunity to meet Obama, when you are in his presence, the charisma is palpable! I love Michelle but wow!
I usually love your captions for the pictures. However, in this case, it needs to be changed to “Bear Down”. That’s how we say it here. Thanks for all you do!
KBC
Thank you KBC, loved your message!
Awesome! Thank you Chipsticks. Go Bears….Bear Down!
Go Bears South side Chicago
Thanks, Chipsticks.
I had not seen this video! It made me LOL. PBO does love himself some sports.
I love this video and have watched it a few times laughing every time. I used to live in Chicago, and have met the President a few times when he was our State Senator, and US Senator. KBC is correct, he is the same all the time, and just make you want to smile in his presence. You can’t help yourself LOL.
Loved that Bears message back in 2006. It was the beginning of a whole bunch of fun. And GO BEARS! Send President Obama to the Super Bowl! Mr. Dotster will be wearing his winning Bears shirt and sitting in his winning Bears chair again this week—-so the Bears have that advantage. 🙂
KBC, I haven’t met the President, probably never will, but I KNOW his ‘charisma is palpable’ – I can see it at work and feel it through my computer screen!!!! He just has to smile or laugh on screen for me to respond. I also look at the response he engenders among people who are open (as opposed to wilfully negative) and think, ‘wow’! Truthfully, as I’m getting on in years, I’m not sure my heart could withstand a face to face meeting with him. 😉 [Oookay. Aaalright. I’ll admit it. I’m jealous like crazy of you!]
I have an Obama reflex, he does that little chuckle and I am gone. Although I would cherish the opportunity to meet him and Michelle personally, I probably would be rendered speechless.
Laugh out loud….dun dun dun da! Our Minnesota household is throwing their support behind the Chicago Bears, a respected rival. We are not so charitable in our references to the Green Bay Packers, although in our hearts we are happy for both teams. Go Bears…..Bear Down! (Love me some Chicago Blackhawks too – hope they beat the Flyers this Sunday)
