a field trip …. home

The Hill: First daughter Sasha Obama went on a field trip Wednesday morning – to her own home. The nine-year-old attended the arrival ceremony at the White House that began Chinese President Hu Jintao’s state visit.

After the formal welcome, President Obama and the Chinese leader greeted those who came to the White House. The president paused when he reached Sasha and introduced her to Hu.

The first daughter stood out in the first row of school students … a Secret Service agent could be seen standing behind her as she waved the Chinese and American flags. Despite living in the White House, Sasha seemed visibly excited to be there, trading flags back and forth with her classmates standing near her…..

Washington Post: ….among the crowds of dignitaries and onlookers waving American and Chinese flags were about 150 students, including Obama’s younger daughter, Sasha, and several of her fourth-grade classmates from Sidwell Friends School. The youngsters are studying China in social studies, White House staffers said, and came to the welcoming ceremony as a field trip, of sorts.

Sometimes I forget that Sasha is tall for her age. She always seems like such a shorty. standing next to Michelle, Barack, and Malia. Also love the red pants and glittery white scarf.

Actually she looks like she had a growth sprout to me. I am glad she will be tall and beautiful like her Mom and big sis.

Wow, whe is really tall, I was never aware of that! And she looks older to me than her classmates around her. But she’s the prettiest of all 🙂

I’m pretty sure standing behind Sasha in the second picture is Finnegan Biden (or Maisy). Not sure which one but definitely a Biden girl.

Definitely Maisy (she’s around Sasha’s age and goes to the same school), the President points to her at 0:44.

It’s strange to see Sasha on the other side of the rope line from the President. She is happy to be with her classmates as one of the group on a field trip. Love how those girls seem to be kids growing up even if we all see them as unusual they act like regular kids. I love the First Family because they are great role models for our American Families.

If that isn’t the cutest thing!!! They went on a field trip…home. I would have been beaming with pride!

Gosh, I am sure President Obama is just bursting with pride as Sasha interacts with President Hu, as she makes her beloved Dad proud. The First Daughters are such well behaved children. Even at 9, Sasha seems to be a great kid. Great shots Pete Souza!!!

Have the wingnuts started faux outraging over the kids being taken to see Obama and given chinese flags? Clearly a sign he is a secret muslim/communist and this is all part of his evil plan.

Ha, I’m sure they have Fred – but you’d just know by Sasha’s face that she’s out to destroy America, just like her Dad. Chuckle. 🙂

Not yet, but as we know, Fred, some ugly faux observation will be forthcoming. They can’t come up with any solution to any problem, so they have to stay on the attack to remain relevant, and they do it by nit picking and creating conspiracies. The latest one that had me laughing was that the president was telling the audience in AZ when to applaud while he was speaking. Anyone with a lick of sense would know that the screen contained a close captioned message meant to help the hearing impaired to keep up with what was going on.

I can picture them at faux, forming at the mouth, crying foul that the poor kids are being indoctrinated into communism worshipping by the communist Prez.Obama. Pitiful really. Otherwise Sasha and the little ones seem to be having a blast.

Having taught many fourth grade students, I am pleased to see that Sasha acts and looks like a typical fourth grade student. She and her classmates seem to be interacting beautifully. I wish I could have been her teacher–she seems so pleasant. What a fantastic field trip for these children!
