This is a very important state visit. I hope it goes well.

And a modest table setting but oh so elegant. I just love a beautifully set table it makes even eating cornbread and beans taste like you are eating something exotic. Sorry, I’m a little wired for sound tonight about those dang republicans and health care repeal.

I have to admit that I hadn’t really considered fully the impact of defunding the bill. I was fixed on being secure that the Senate and the President’s veto pen would protect the Affordable Care Act. Now, after seeing Bachmann, and reading on another blog that the defunding and picking apart of the bill are the secret weapons that the Republicans have. I can’t believe that these Republicans are so heartless that they can spend months depriving Americans of the right to basic health care. We spent countless hours fighting for this right, and there were countless more spent drafting the bill. And now, these Republicans want to undo the security and certainty that millions of Americans are now experiencing. What they are doing is not human. The love of power can’t be this corrupting, can it?

This picture is the business. Two very powerful leaders. I have some big issues with China but I am glad we have a potus who is willing to sit with people he does not agree with.

This State visit is extremely important and I think it will be perfect, fingers crossed. The Chinese are really into Protocol and I am confident, we will be honoring our quests with great respect. Today’s small dinner was a very serious meeting with high stakes. There is an announcement coming up that is good for China and the US.

I can’t wait to see what Michelle wears tomorrow night and who the dinner quests and entertainment will be. If you aren’t already a fan of the website “Mrs. O” you are really in for a treat. We’ve studied every outfit she has worn since the beginning of this presidency, quessing who the designer is. It’s a blast.

The setting in the Ole Family Dining Room is perfection. A good start.
