Very moving tribute, Chip. The sooner America overcomes its obsession with guns and violence, the sooner we shall overcome.

Thankyou Chipsticks for this hope-nurturing website.

I have been saddened and angered by this tragedy. We, American Democrats have a right to live and work in America without the threat of violence and hate promoted by Tea Baggers in specific and supported by Republicans,in general.

My prayer is that those of us who have been silent will speak up and seek an end to the broadcasting of hate, lies and doctored videotapes prevalent on our public airwaves. This shooting shows a lack of respect for the lives of fellow Americans. This is so unpatriotic, so unAmerican, so outrageously preventable.

My prayers and blessings are with the family and friends of those who have been killed and injured

May God bring healing to America and guide us back to the Love from which we are created.

Galatians 5:14 “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

    Shaanti, Shaanti, Shaanti.

Hachiko–America will never get over its obsession wih guns and violence. It is part of our heritage and unfortunately a national pastime–yes, both guns and violence fascinates and obsesses many–maybe even most– Americans. I don’t know why this is or why we can’t seem to recognize and try to address and deal with our obsession more effectively, it is the intelligent way to solve the problems caused by it. America also refuses to face certain facts about iself. I am devastated by this act and by what it portends, but I don’t have any idea of how to make America really look at what has been done and seriously, honestly and frankly consider how to deal with it.
