We’ve needed this bill for a long time. I can recall just how hurt I was every time I read something about someone dying and/or getting sick from tainted food due to a lack of proper oversight. One of the incidents originated here in GA with contaminated peanut butter. When I read about conditions in the plant ( mold, mildew, rat droppings, etc) I couldn’t believe that GWB and his republican cohorts really believed that companies are capable, and will, police themselves when their main goal is to make as much money as they possibly can. I’ve noticed that the FDA has increased inspections of these facilities over the past two years. My neighbor works for the FDA and is always traveling to inspect plants. A few years ago, he was not as busy conducting these inspections as he is now.

POTUS signed 35 bills into law today! HOPE he is soaking his hand in ice and getting over the jet lag of six hours! 🙂
