Okay I must comment on this.. because that would be me, although I like to think I’d have my mouth shut while I’m falling apart.. weeping over my President 😉 I am completely impressed with the dog’s poise however.. cool character, that one.
I’d be that lady on the inside, for sure, but I would try to be the doggie on the outside. But I would probably only manage to utter some sort of “ga ga goo goo”, or some similar garbledy-gook. Pretty hilarious.
I actually had that experience, shaking hands and having a picture taken with the President whom I adore. I must admit, the doggie has it on dignity and I definitely fit the “ga ga goo goo” category of conversation. Still, it was an unforgettable moment. And laughing is good for the soul.
Good for you, hgerhard. The closest I’ve come was hearing his voice on one of our weekly status conference calls during the ’08 campaign. I had a chance to meet him when he came to town with Bill Clinton, but the event was really late at night and I couldn’t make it. 😦
It is so much fun to see others who relate to this lucky woman! Because, the minute I saw the picture, I said to myself, that would be me. Absolutely no doubt about her excitement, and I’m so happy for her!
Thanks, BWD, for giving us the opportunity to share. I’m lovin it.
I shook the president’s hand before – well then he was a state senator. After I saw him flawlessly and passionately execute the DNC keynote address, I figured this man is going places, places where they will not let me in,so I better shake his hand now. I walked over to him, literally grabbed his hand. They were oh so very soft, so very soft. Oops-I digressed. Anyway, I am very tall and I had two inch heels on and I still had to look up at him. I looked into his eyes, seriously contemplating what I would say and I said and I quote “fajkagejoiuagfnjaljkgjl^(&$&#*(#*#” – Yes, that’s what I said to the future and quite distingushed POTUS. It was complete jibberish. He was kind he said something. Something that I could not hear, because a special song was playing in the background, that song by the Carpenters -“why do birds suddenly appear everytime you are near….” He was so dreamy.
Oh my excuse me, with that I’ll take my leave *exit hurriedly stage right ——————————–” I was not married then so I did not feel guilty at all. My deepest and most sincere apologies to the First Lady.
Really, what a story! I’d be dreaming of that moment for the rest of my life, absently smiling forever…
Sherijr, if Chipsticks should one day be invited to the WH because of the great work, she should go alone. Just imagine how a bunch of Obama-addicts would all faint the moment he’d walk in. No one would take us seriously anymore 🙂
i love it! Your skills at writing put me there right along side of you! I think he is most dreamest Person ever and I’m ancient but he makes me remember when I was 16!
I laugh when I see people crying when they see someone famous, but I know for sure that the tears would be flowing if I ever saw the President or the First Lady and I doubt I could utter two words clearly 😉

ROFL …. I kid myself that I would remain as serene as the dog, but no, I would be that woman!!! 🙂

=0)@ sherijr. I’d more than likely be the same way…..
That’s three of us! 🙂
That woman is so strong. I would collapse and die in his hands and go straight to heaven.
Yep……….”swoooon” and “faint”……..;0)
Okay that is LOL funny!
I’m with all the commenters here…..there is zero chance that I would be able to maintain any degree of composure, ga ga goo goo times ten.
*Agree with the previous comments* I ❤ him.

I get excited from seeing this man on tv. I can’t imagine my response up close and personal. 🙂
Haha! Me too, sis. I think I’d break down crying.

LOL.. seriously hysterical- I am betting I would say exactly what you said, consonant for consonant, lol. Great story and lucky you.
I love all the comments on this thread, now just think if all of us met the President at the same time, what a mess.
Really, what a story! I’d be dreaming of that moment for the rest of my life, absently smiling forever…

Roaring laughing, Dreamchaser you are a SCREAM!!! “I figured this man is going places, places where they will not let me in” had me weepin’!!!!
Actually, I think you did quite well with “fajkagejoiuagfnjaljkgjl^(&$&#*(#*#” – this’d be me:
LOL! DreamChaser, your story – or the way you recounted for us – cracked me up from start to finish. How divine for you. Thanks for sharing that.
I should reveal that I too once met the President – I’m the green arrow, he’s the red. If you look closely enough you’ll see him waving at me.
😀
Hilarious!
LOL!
i love it! Your skills at writing put me there right along side of you! I think he is most dreamest Person ever and I’m ancient but he makes me remember when I was 16!
ROTFL!!!!
DreamChaser I haven’t laughed like that in a long time. That’s so halarious.
Leave it to our president to charm the people and the animals!
I’m cracking up at the comments you all have made about this set of pics.
And, Chipsticks, the caption reminds me of what the witch in the Wizard of Oz said to Dorothy about Toto. You’re quite the sly one, aren’t you? LOL
You’re a hoot! Honestly, I’d forgotten all about the Wizard of Oz, so it was a pure coincidence!! 🙂
I laugh when I see people crying when they see someone famous, but I know for sure that the tears would be flowing if I ever saw the President or the First Lady and I doubt I could utter two words clearly 😉
LOL
Is that woman happy or what?
Tee hee. I’ll be like that woman AFTER – don’t want to ‘spoil’ the moment and my picture, once in a life time moment and all.
I saw the dog first, he seemed so disappointed. It was like, where is BO, I came all the way here to see BO and this guy shows up alone.
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bo’s got a potential girlfriend or should that be dogfriend lol. Thanks Chipsticks i really enjoyed this one and the comments hilarious!
I am still cracking up!!!! But, to be fair, if it was me meeting him…….that picture would be me 🙂
My 1st thought was, she was asking the POTUS:”Does HCR law cover Dental sir? cuz I got something to show ya !” 😀
