A very happy New Year and good health and success in 2011! I have become so much more hopeful that the country will rally behind our great President as he continues to work diligently to get us back on track and to ensure future growth and opportunity for all Americans as well as a more peaceful world. Reading your articles and so many supportive comments from people everywhere has given me lots of encouragement. The voices of hatred and disparagement are loud, but the gentle voices of support and resolve are much stronger in the end – they are the voices that our neighbors, our friends and co-workers and all the members of our communities will hear and quietly evaluate, and more often than not will pass along. Thank you, Chipsticks, for giving our voices a home and thanks to all others who have created similar spaces. The road ahead is still long and full of obstacles, but it is comforting to know that we are many and that we will be heard.

Happy New Year and hopes for a wonderful 2011 to all Obama Diary members. A special thanks and New Year blessings to you and yours, Chipsticks!

O/T—I heard something on an Atlanta news noon broadcast today that quite literally blew me away since praise for anything related to what our president does/has done is very rare here. An auto dealer in the Atlanta area reported that he has hundreds of advance orders for the new Chevy Volt! He said that he traveled to NY to purchase one for himself since they aren’t available in GA yet. This is great news for me because it shows that there are some here who DO care about our environment, and it bodes well for the continued economic recovery of GM! The segment made my day!

Wishing everyone here a healthy and joyful New Years. The sentiments expressed say better than I could my own feelings, that they are shared by so many is comforting and encouraging. Lets shine the light, and continue to spread the hope as the days ahead unfold. Namaste.
