This is such a heart-warming picture. These people are far removed from the shenanigans out here in the “modern world”, and they know that the President is fighting the good fight, against some very vile opponents. Such a simple and profound statement.

This says a lot about how people in other countries appreciate our president and wish him success in his endeavors. I think it also says quite a bit about some Americans who are wishing for him to fail. They never think that his failure is our failure AND the world’s failure. I guess that’s what happens when there are millions of people who think they don’t need their fellow Americans or the rest of the world. These shamans understand the true meaning of the word “global community.”

So true. Good people the world over appreciate President Obama for who he is and what he stands for as an extraordinary man first and now as the president of the United States. It’s a real shame that in their blinding hate and jealousy some very short-sighted americans along with slimy self-serving foreigners like Rupert Murdoch, have done everything in their power to dimnish and outrightly destroy this President who only wants what’s best, right and to do so much good not just for america but for the entire world.
But the good people of the world united in their support of President Obama will win against any and all evil of every shape or form.

One song! That is our uni(one) verse(song). No matter how we separate into individual notes, we are all still involved in the one song.

This is heartwarming indeed especially coming on the heels of some WTF news~

I just read somewhere yesterday that President Obama and the First Lady were being snubbed by the British royal family and are not invited to William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in the new year ~ And though not considered a “State” wedding, there will be some handpicked head’s of state in attendance, but the Obamas have been particularly excluded for whatever reason.

Nancy Reagan was in attendance for Charles and Diana’s and also Fergie and Andrew’s~

What saddened me the most was the hateful comments posted in response to the news on several websites ~ I honestly can’t understand the vicious and hateful response to the Obamas.

And what a shame if this is true ~ What a well-documented slight against this President and First Lady by the boy who might someday be king ~ But then again, the Clintons set the tone for the world to blatantly disrespect this President and First Lady by not even giving them the courtesy of an invite to politely decline attendance. Has anyone else ever witnessed this much disrespect of a sitting U.S President??

Hey avpmom, it’s worth noting that the story about the ‘snub’ originated with the Daily Mail, a hateful right-wing British rag that will twist any piece of harmless information to fit its ugly agenda. The people who comment on their website are famous for being racist nutjobs, Britain’s version of teabaggers. So if you ever see a story that came from the Daily Mail, laugh at it!

There is no snub here at all. There was a discussion on British TV a couple of weeks ago about who would be invited and the point was made that because it is not a ‘state’ wedding – Kate is a ‘commoner’ (you have to love these terms!) and William is not the king or direct heir to the throne – there’s no obligation to invite any world leaders at all (Charles and Diana’s wedding was a state occasion, so that’s why heads of state were invited).

The biggest issue here is the cost of the wedding – because Britain is going through such a difficult time economically a lavish affair just wouldn’t be tolerated. A recent poll in the UK Independent showed that 31% of Britons “couldn’t care less” about the wedding, 28% described themselves as “largely indifferent” and only 11% were “very excited” – so that’s the mood of the country.

Security, of course, is the costliest part of anything like this, so for that reason the ‘experts’ in that discussion reckoned it was unlikely the Obamas would be invited. Their presence in London would send the security bill through the roof.

A ‘snub’ would make no sense at all – it’s in David Cameron’s absolute interests to maintain a good relationship with the President, and we saw what a hit the Obamas were when they were in London. Crikey, they even made the Queen and her loathsome husband smile!

If other heads of state are invited they’ll most likely be from European countries with their own royal families (many of whom are related to the British royal family) or from Commonwealth countries (ie where they still have the Queen as their head of state).

So, the Daily Mail, naturally enough, describe this as a ‘SNUB!’ – it’s not.

Excellent, fact filled post, Chipsticks. My blood pressure went all the way up, then came all the way down to normal. I can’t imagine that the Obama’s would feel snubbed for not being invited to the wedding of a pair of people they don’t even know, taking time away from their family – and these kids getting married don’t look like the spiteful types, either. Some just live to be negative, such as those in the Daily Mail. I love that we can bring these lies to websites such as this, and get someone knowledgeable to put the story straight. Thanks to both of you!

Chipsticks…thanks for the explanation. I thought I had read somwhere that the “SNUB” was not true but could not find all the details. I feel much better.
