just a word or three

Hey people, just wanted to thank you all for your wonderful contributions today – a difficult day, it’s fair to say – whether they were comments or links: hugely, hugely appreciated.

After enduring – as you all have done – once Dem-supporting sites being over-run by haters, many with the most spiteful and questionable of agendas, it’s indescribably great to ‘meet’ up with a bunch of decent and smart people who refuse to surrender their optimism and – yes – hope in the face of all this venom. (Freaks! Nazi-like propagandists! Cultists!)

Don’t know about you, but I thought the President had fire in his belly in today’s press conference – it was beyond heartening that he took on both the extreme left and right, neither of which (as all the polls show) represent the vast majority of the American people. They shout the loudest, though, so the media gives them the most attention …. to the point where you’d actually think they spoke for America!

They don’t. And we all know that.

“Sanctimonious” purists, irrational ideologues, that’s all the extreme left and right are … they have so much in common.

Keep fighting the hate people!

Our President is going to be vindicated. It will be swift and sure. It will be in such a way that there is no doubt that he is on the right track. He has faith. He is a visionary and ahead of his time. Things have a way of working out. He has the courage of his convictions and he is so intense and focussed that it is unbelievable. It is OK.

The President is thinking about the American People. The ones who wants him to hold out are not thinking at all. People are out here hurting. Unemployment benefits are being exhausted and getting an extension can help people with their financial situation also, in about 3 wks. people will start getting their income tax returns prepared and there’s no time for political ping pong. Those college credits, child tax credit, earned income credit, and making work credit, people need those and it will go right back into the economy.

Awh Chipsticks, your words of and encouragement are very inspirational. I love your website. I am not new to this site. I’ve just never taken the time to comment before. I’ve actually had your site in my favorites for about 6 mos, and often visit when I just want to smile and feel uplifted. And tonight you did not disappoint. Thank you.

Thanks for the comment. I have written the white house, my congresswoman Lee, Senators Boxer, Feinstein and the OFA petition. It’s important that they hear from supporters. The media is magnifying the importance of the Frustrati on the left. I’ll take slow steady progress, more jobs, unemployment insurance, and continuing tax breaks for the middle class and small business. The president got way more than he gave up. Purity does notvfill the stomach or keep a roof over your head.

I was so proud of my President during that press conference. I actually shedded a tear two when he said the part that Chipsticks quoted. The fact that he couldn’t walk through the front door back in the day and today he is the President. A President that is willing to put aside his beliefs to do what is right for the American people and then to have people that’s supposed to be on his side throw it in his face.SMDH!! I’m trying to figure out why these people are such idiots, but I know it’s because they don’t live the life. They want Obama to negotiate for tax cuts while they continue to eat and have shelter and the people they are actually negotiating for are starving and damn near homeless. And I’m not all that politically intuned, but where were all these people when Bush put these taxes in place? I hate to see the rich getting tax cuts, but I love to see my family and the people I love being helped by the taxcuts and UI benefits that are set in place for us. So, I can live with it and I firmly stand behind my President.

Thank you for this safe haven, Chipsticks! It is definitely a Godsend. And thank you for filtering the filth – I’m sure there are many comments that you block us from that are filled with vitriol – thank you.

The President has put up with a lot from the left and the right. He’s done historic things, and received nothing but kicks in the teeth for his efforts. But he still sits down at the table each time, in good faith, ready to do what is necessary to protect this country. He is truly amazing, and this country is lucky to have him.

As I drove home from work last evening, I turned on the radio, just a tad curious to hear what was been spun and how it was been received; And boy was I shocked and pleasantly surprised!

On one popular station, the regular host an older Libertarian guy was out sick and his replacement for the night a self-described “progressive” liberal started off the show bashing and name-calling the President with the now familiar adjectives tossed around by the usual suspects – fraud, wimp, weak, etc. She accused the President’s “handler’s” of playing politics by trying to craft an image of President Obama as the only reasonable person in Washington using this compromise on taxes as a jumping off point! I’m not kidding!

She ranted on and on before opening the lines to callers. From the first caller to the very last one I heard befor I tuned off 2 hours later, every single one was passionately supportive of Presidnt Obama! Men, women, old and young! It was surreal and amazing! They all thought the President had only the best interest of ordinary, defenseless Americans at heart and that the compromise was done only in that spirit- But more importantly, they all applauded the President’s intelligence, his decency, his integrity and his dignity! Wow!

What struck me was how articulate and calm they all were even as several chided her for her insulting and condescending remarks about the President, including a few who identified themselves as Republicans! Yes, Republicans! She of course accused them of supporting the President only because he had “caved” and was now doing their bidding – she called them names and cut them off ~ One guy actualy called back and calmly requested to say his piece since she’d cut him off before he could finish ~ LOL!

Later, I spoke with a friend of mine – a Republican who’s now registered Independent and voted for President Obama ~ She recounted a similar experience listening to the Alan Colmes show(?) –

She said that caller after caller, mostly Republicans – apparently that’s the show’s audience – all expressed respect and admiration for President Obama on his handling of this matter and one went as far as saying that it was time people stopped calling President Obama the first African American President – He said it made him mad to hear that seeing that he also belonged to white America since his mother was white ~ The host asked the caller if he now wanted to claim President Obama as one of theirs and this caller from Amarillo Texas apparently a regular call and usually nasty, insisted that President Obama was American and belonged to all of America!

My friend was stunned! Apparently this is a show with callers that mostly want to call in to yell about how President Obama is muslim, Kenyan, dangerous and all of that other stuff ~

Good will always trump evil in the end ~ it’s only a matter of time my friends!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post yout comment (and all of the others too). My mouth just dropped while reading about the callers from the radion show. I’m just shocked and grateful that there are supporters out there willing to speak up. That’s why I make this site a daily stop I need the good news. I have faith also that good will trump evil. Thank you Mr President and continue to do it your way,, win or lose

Thank you Chipsticks and thank you Audrey for sharing those uplifting accounts!!! I am very certain that we are on the right side with President Obama!!!
I was at the dentist today and my dentist an old Jewish man asked what I thought of President Obama’s press conference yesterday and I told him I hadn’t had a chance to see it in full since I’d just returned last night from a trip abroad.

My dentist described it as brilliant and was so impressed. He contends that President Obama must do more of these as it reminds us all of the brilliant man we elected!!!
