President Obama and his family, along with first mother-in-law Marian Robinson, showed up at Howard University on Saturday to watch the Bisons play Oregon State University in basketball. Michelle Obama’s brother, Craig Robinson, is Oregon State’s head coach.
I am so glad to see President Obama out and about. Twitter just blew up with info about him being at the game LOL. Also glad to see his lip is not huge. That should shut some naysayers up LOL.
Busted lip and all – he is still looking F-I-O-N-E!!!!! Sasha is adorable holding on to her mom and dad!
Thank you for these wonderful photos of our wonderful 1st Family – that’s why I love this site!!!!
Hummm, familiar surroundings for me. My middle son went to Howard University. Pic#5 does make the injury look just a little intense. You can see the stitches. He’s OK, and he look Great, as usual.
CollegeKay, you attend Howard. Great. HBC’s are especially rewarding for young people who have grown up on the West Coast. Best thing I could have ever done. It gave my son a direct hit on his culture; changed his outlook completely on who he is as opposed to my youngest son who graduated from UCLA and my eldest, Cal State, Fullerton. The West Coast educated behave just a little differently about their culture than my middle son.
ITA.I have my issues with the institution (like any other) but it’s something about being at an HBCU that is fulfilling. It’s a brotherhood/sisterhood type deal.
Oh Lord, Only our fine President Obama could make a busted swole lip look sexy. In other news is that precious baby Craig’s? what a cutie. I love the first family so much.
Seeing Secretary Duncan near POTUS (in the video) made me smile as I remembered how the MSM had all but named him ‘suspect No. 2 ‘(iReggie taking the honor of being ‘suspect No 1) in the lineup of whodunnit and before the real elbow-culprit was revealed.
You are so right about the importance of the HBCU”s in maintaining authentic black American, middle class culture. I have a niece who was raised in the Bay Area of CA, and she chose to attend Hampton in VA. She wanted to learn more about her culture. She is learning and enjoying herself immensely. Also, her mother who was also raised in the Bay Area, attended an HBCU a generation earlier, and she is culturally different than her younger sister who attended one of the California state schools. It makes a difference.
Thanks for these lovely pictures. As I have stated before, this website is an island of love and sanity in an ocean of hate and insanity.
First of all, thanks again for this wonderful website. As I wrote before, it is an island of love and sanity in an ocean of hate and insanity.

You are so right about the HBCU’s being so important. They are crucial in helping to maintain authentic, black American middle-class culture; and providing a venue for black American college students who are the first in their families to attend college. In my family, I have a niece who was born and raised in the Bay Area of CA, but she chose to attend an HBCU in the South. She is learning and enjoying herself immensely. Her mother who was also raised in the Bay Area a generation earlier also chose to attend an HBCU while her younger sister graduated from one of the Calfornia state schools. Even though they were raised by the same parents in the same household just a few years apart, their cultural outlooks are so different.
Owwwwwweeeeee! That looks like it hurts. But even a bum lip can’t detract from “the handsome”. How anyone could feel anything but pride and affection towards this family is beyond me!
Great shot of the President shadow boxing. Every comment is so true about the HBCU’s I wish I had gone to one. There is no feeling like the support of people truly invested in your betterment. I love this site and it fulfills my need to see that this wonderful family is being supported and appreciated.

My lip is stinging just looking at it 😦
But you’re right, he’s looking fine!
Of course they’d come to my school while we’re on break. Lol.
Are you serious collegekay? Nooooooooooo!
Yeah a lot of my classmates are salty about it, including me. It’s ok though, lol.
I am sorry you missed out – you should have been suspcious though given what happened the last time the “Team-in-law” came to town

I love my first family, no doubt about it.
Love a man with a scar. President Obama looks really hot.
Couldn’t help myself. He just is.
🙂 cosigns this.
They are seriously one of the most colorful families I’ve ever seen. All they are missing is Maya and her kids.

yes, the baby is Coach Craig Robinson’s kid. the young lady and young man seated at Malia’s left are Coach Robinson’s older children

I have to admit, I did think it was Reggie. 🙂
