best seller

NEW YORK (AP) — President Barack Obama’s latest book may not outsell “The Audacity of Hope,” but it’s off to a good start.

Random House Children’s Books announced Tuesday that “Of Thee I Sing,” a picture book Obama wrote before he was president, sold 50,000 copies in its first five days. The publisher called it the fastest selling picture book in the company’s history.

“Of Thee I Sing” is a tribute to Jackie Robinson, George Washington and other Americans. It came out Nov. 16.

Obama is donating his proceeds from it to a scholarship fund for children of disabled and fallen soldiers.

Good and well deserved. It is a fantastic book and everybody should include it in holiday gifts to the little ones and some big ones too.

Fantastic book! Every single child and adult that’s read it has been touched by this simple yet deep, inspiring and magical book; I’ve been so proud to get such heartfelt thank you’s from every child and parent I’ve given a copy to. One mother I gave a copy to described it as stirring-
