Politico: At an emotional dinner in Indonesia, President Obama thanked his hosts for giving him a medal in honor of his mother and for serving foods that were his favorites as a child growing up there. ”I promise it won’t take so long before I come back,” Obama said in a toast, according to the pool, adding that he was “deeply moved.”
“The fact that you would choose to recognize my mother in this way speaks to the bonds she forged over many years with the people of this magnificent country,” he said. “She believed we all share common aspirations: to live in dignity and security, to get an education, to provide for our families, to give our children a better future, to leave the world better than we found it.”

How sweet. I wish his mom was still alive to see the wonderful man she raised to become President of the United States.
I wish the same thing,Collegekay. She raised an awesome son. Tears filled my eyes as I watched our President being showered with honour in 2 different countries. God is with him. Let the haters hate. They cannot undo what God has ordained. They cannot fight against all mighty God.

What a wonderful honor Indonesia bestowed upon the memory of his beautiful and lovely mother. He said she was a dreamer. I think it is great to see many of her dreams came to fruition. It’s so sad that he lost his Mom, Dad, and his grandparents so young. *tears up*
Yes his mother would have been beaming proud of her son, and then would promptly ask him to do more for the poor. She would probably as sigh in sadness at the vitriol being hurled endlessly at her thoughtful son, knowing she did not raise him to hate people who hate him. His human spirit always shines.
I’m glad the world respects our President.
I wish his sister had been there to participate in this. She’s probably livid at the way her brother is being treated, and the way the Indian and Indonesian people have honored her brother will hopefully restore her faith in humanity.
I’m not one to pray, but here i am praying for the safety and success of this President and his family. I pray to the higher being to please take his hand in yours and protect him.

I’ve silently watched this past few days as our spectacular President & First Lady have been feted in 2 different countries I’m sure to the chagrin of those who have spent the past two years demonizing and trying to discredit and destroy them.
I am both heartened and saddened by the realization of the world, that just as was always imagined, this is indeed an extraordinary couple doing an extraordinary job in the face of great hostility and attack – even if the American media chose not to properly cover this very successful trip – Probably for fear that their lies and propaganda against this very thoughtful and decent President will be exposed.

Every day am so eager to look here to learn what the gracious man is up to today. 🙂 I too agree with others here that this man is special. Its clear in his life story. I can only guess how proud he must have been in accepting that momento. At the same time, I bet he missed his mother by his side. Well, am sure she is watching over him from heaven and will protect him from all evil eyes out there.
It is well known to all of us now that as many people love him, almost that many is against him. There is a reason for it. This man is so focused on doing the right things for the country and the world, he doesn’t pay attention to the politics.(Well that’s a mistake he admits now!) That is disturbing so many others in power and is creating secret enemies. They are spreading the wrong message about him and his policies among the common man, that his work is not getting the credit that it so much deserves. Look at the mid term results! People so fast forgot the past and vote back Republicans who did nothing in last 2 years other than worked against Obama to power! Most productive congress in a 100 years is out of power! Now they are going to re-work everything he did in the past 2 years. God save America.
Little bit of facts about Obama based on his numerology – He is ruled by the number 26, which is controlled by planet Saturn. This number is responsible for making him the most powerful man in the world, but at the same time, it makes him having the most powerful of enemies. He will have to face a lot of opposition and obstacles (look at past 2 years! Which president had so many things coming at him as this man in his first 2 years? May be FR. No one else!) but as a man of values, he will continue to do his best. Hence ultimately he will succeed and be blessed with all good things in life. But he must be protected else, enemies will stop at nothing but his…I dont want to say it.
