Saw the trailer for Waiting for Superman. What do I think about our education system. Hmmm. Well I think it’s outdated and not enough teachers are able to replace the retiring ones but I think parents just don’t have the time or energy to sit with their kids and read to them or help them with their homework like in the 20’s, 30’s 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s when most mothers were at home. I have nothing against working parents but the average American is working a lot harder than they are getting compensated for. It’s also amazing how whenever we are in a financial crisis the first thing that gets cut is Education and the children suffer. That’s my simplistic view on it.
Just noting, the only people considering cutting education is the Republican party. President Obama has actually increased funds to education. Followed by yay votes by the Democrats in congress. Of course the Republicans said NO. The GOP/teapartiers have already (while buying drapes and decorating offices they have not won} stated they will unequivocally CUT education spending if they gain the house. This is a main reason out of many, why we cannot afford to go back to their failed policies. vote democrat nov 2.
Now As far as these pictures I wish that little boy would have sat better. He will be embarrassed when he grows up and this is how he was sitting in front of the President of America and in the oval office at that. His parents should have explained how to behave in front of our President and to respect people’s space. He is cute tho. The other children are adorable and obviously raised to be respectful.

I agree about how the little fellow was sitting–a little too familiar. The little girl next to him was much better in attitude and deportment.
Well, I think the little boy felt right at home…after all did somebody not say that the White House was the People’s House?!
I completely agree with you Kelly on all points: education cuts/repubs and the little guy’s poor behavior in the Oval office.
Haha! Looks like those new sofas the President put in are reeeeeally comfy! I hope that young man sees a future for himself in the White House.
Oh yes Kelly I’m fully aware of Obama’s funding and push for education. I’m referring to the local and state governments.
